The Coalition of Independent Nationals (COIN) is a former political party in Fiji, which never won parliamentary representation. The party won less than 0.1% of the popular vote. It was originally a grouping of six candidates styling themselves as independents, in the 1999 election and was led by Prince Vyas Muni Lakshman.

The 1992 United States presidential election was the 52nd quadrennial presidential election, held on Tuesday, November 3, 1992. Democratic Governor Bill Clinton of Arkansas defeated incumbent Republican President George H. W. Bush, independent businessman Ross Perot of Texas, and a number of minor candidates. This election marked the end of a period of Republican dominance that began in 1968. This was the last election until 2020 in which the incumbent president failed to win a second term.
Third party is a term used in the United States for American political parties other than the two dominant parties, currently the Republican and Democratic parties. Sometimes the phrase "minor party" is used instead of third party.
The 1945 United Kingdom general election was a national election held on 5 July 1945, but polling in some constituencies was delayed by some days, and the counting of votes was delayed until 26 July to provide time for overseas votes to be brought to Britain. The 2003 election to the Northern Ireland Assembly was held on Wednesday, 26 November 2003, after being suspended for just over a year. The 2014 Castle Point Borough Council election took place on 22 May 2014 to elect members of Castle Point Borough Council in Essex, England. One third of the council was up for election and the Conservative Party lost overall control of the council to no overall control.

The 2018 Connecticut Senate election was held on November 6, 2018, concurrently with the elections for the Connecticut House of Representatives, to elect members to the Connecticut General Assembly. All 36 seats in the Connecticut Senate were up for election. The election resulted in Democrats expanding control in both chambers of the Connecticut General Assembly, ending the split control in the Senate, that had been in place since the 2016 elections. Primary elections were held on August 14, 2018.
The 2020 Connecticut State Senate election took place on November 3, 2020. Part of the biennial 2020 United States elections. Connecticut voters elected senators in all of the 36 State Senate districts. State senators serve two-year terms in the Connecticut State Senate, with all 36 of the seats up for election each cycle. The Primary Elections on August 11, 2020 determined which candidates appeared on the ballot for the general election. Four primary elections were cancelled, including three Republican primary elections. As a result, four Incumbent candidates ran uncontested.
The 2019 Abia State House of Assembly election was held on March 9, 2019, to elect members of the Abia State House of Assembly in Nigeria. All the 24 seats were up for election in the Abia State House of Assembly. PDP won all the 24 available seats.
