Collapsing Opposites is an indie rock group and music project from Vancouver, British Columbia. It was founded in 2002 by artist and musician Ryan McCormick and has subsequently included over 18 different members.[ citation needed ]

History

Collapsing Opposites released their first EP Demonstration [1] in 2002 and followed it up with five full-length albums including Sincerity/Sarcasm (2004), Mean Letters (2005), [2] Inside Chance (2007) [3] [4] In Time (2010), [5] [6] [7] and Real Moving (2011). The group has also released one other EP (The Story of the Rocks in 2008 [8] ), two compilations (Microchips Implanted in Your Brain in 2005 and Music and Words in 2007) and a split 7" record with the band Bible Belts in 2008.

The band's 2007 album Inside Chance reached number 16 on the Canadian National Campus and Community Radio charts; [9] In Time reached number 37 [10] and Mean Letters reached number 128. Sunset Rubdown

Sunset Rubdown was a Canadian art rock music group from Montreal. The band began as a solo project for Spencer Krug of Wolf Parade, who released his debut, Snake's Got a Leg, in early 2005. Ache Records is an independent record label based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. It was started by the musician Andy Dixon around 1999. Ache releases music for both Canadian and foreign acts. The first release on Ache Records was Hot Hot Heat's release, Hot Hot Heat (1999), a four-song EP. Other notable artists to work with Ache include Death from Above 1979, Four Tet, Hrvatski, Konono N°1, and Matmos.

Pete Samples is the electronic music project and professional name of Canadian musician Brent Freedman, a Winnipeg and Montreal-based solo artist and a multi-instrumentalist.

Olenka and the Autumn Lovers are a Canadian indie folk band from Vancouver, British Columbia. Fronted by Polish-born singer-songwriter Olenka Krakus, the band's sound is a mix of orchestral folk-pop with elements reminiscent of classic country and folk music, and Eastern European folk. The band uses diverse instruments to showcase Krakus' songwriting.

The Darlings of Chelsea are a Canadian punk rock band formed in 2008 in Toronto. The band toured Ireland in 2009 as part of Canadian Music Week.

The Laundronauts

The Laundronauts are a Canadian indie rock music trio formed in late 2007 from Victoria, British Columbia. Founded by Stephen J Horak and Gareth Wynne, the Laundronauts release their material on their own label, Spincycle Records.

James Watts, also known by the moniker KiloWatts, is an American electronic musician. He has toured across Australia, Canada, Europe, and the United States since 2002. His 2007 release Ground State was said to lead the devoted listener to a state of total hypnosis by Side-Line Magazine. In 2006, Igloo Magazine called his album Routes "a lifetime of travel compressed into an hour of aural head-tripping." His project with Tanner Ross, entitled Voodeux, was reviewed by XLR8R Magazine and could only be described as "...if maverick producers Ricardo Villalobos and Bruno Pronsato plundered Lustmord's harddrive full of tar-black ambience..." His collaboration with Bluetech, called Invisible Allies, was included in Headphone Commute's Best Of 2010 collection.

Boombox Saints

Boombox Saints was a hip hop and R&B group based in Vancouver, BC, Canada. The band officially formed in 2008 taking their name from the 1990s film Boondock Saints. Within four years, Boombox Saints released two EPs, The Boombox EP and Bringin' the Boom Back: Based on a True Story as well as a full-length debut album titled For the Moment. They shared stages with successful and respected acts including J. Cole, Kid Cudi, Big Sean, Mos Def, Jay Electronica, Talib Kweli, Souls of Mischief, Far East Movement, Danny Fernandes and Sean Paul.
