The Colombia national ice hockey team (Spanish : Selección de hockey sobre hielo de Colombia) is the national men's ice hockey team of Colombia, is controlled by the Colombian Ice Hockey Federation, and on 26 September 2019, became an associate member of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF). Colombia is currently not ranked in the IIHF World Ranking and has not entered in any IIHF World Championship events. They are working on the women's national ice hockey team and have participated in the Amerigol LATAM Cup some years and other tournaments like the Pan American Ice Hockey Tournament.

History

Colombia made its debut on 2 March 2014, and played its first game against Argentina at the 2014 Pan American Ice Hockey Tournament being held in Mexico City. [2] Colombia was one of five teams to participate in the tournament, which included Argentina, Brazil, Mexico and a selection team from Canada. [2] After winning their opening game of the tournament against Argentina, The team had two straight losses to Canada and Mexico. [3] They completed the round robin off with a 14–0 win over Brazil. [4] They were drawn against Argentina for the bronze medal match, which they went on to a 9–1 win. [3] [5]

On 13 September 2022, Colombia played a friendly match against Argentina at the NHL's Florida Panthers home ice arena, the FLA Live Arena, in Sunrise, Florida, before the 2022 Amerigol LATAM Cup began. They completed with a 7–3 win over Argentina. [6]

The Pan American Ice Hockey Tournament was a series of the international ice hockey tournament in the continents of North and South America. The full members of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) are Canada, Mexico and the United States, which participate in the IIHF World Championship. The associate members are Argentina and Brazil, which participate in the IIHF Inline Hockey World Championship. Jamaica is also an IIHF member, but it have not been quoted as potential participants. Several countries have not registered any ice hockey activities are Chile, Ecuador and Venezuela, have only played inline hockey.

The Chile national ice hockey team is the national men's ice hockey team of Chile and is controlled by the Chilean Ice and Inline Hockey Federation. Chile is currently not ranked in the IIHF World Ranking and has not entered in any IIHF World Championship events.

The men's tournament in ice hockey at the 2018 Winter Olympics was held in Gangneung, South Korea between 14 and 25 February 2018. Twelve countries qualified for the tournament; eight of them did so automatically by virtue of their ranking by the International Ice Hockey Federation, one, South Korea, automatically qualified as hosts, while the three others took part in a qualification tournament.

HC Kremenchuk is an ice hockey team based in Kremenchuk, Ukraine, playing in the Ukrainian Hockey Extra League that was formed prior to the 2016–17 season. The club was founded in 2010 and initially competed in Ukrainian amateur championships before joining the Belarusian Vysshaya Liga for 2013–14 season. After finishing the regular 2013–14 season Kremenchuk was forced to withdraw from the league prior to the playoffs due to the political situation in Ukraine. The team then joined the Ukrainian Championship for the 2014–15 season, winning the regular season and finishing as runners-up in the playoffs. Kremenchuk has also qualified for the IIHF Continental Cup on one occasion.

Ice hockey is a minor sport in Mexico, but is slowly growing. Football has dominated Mexican sports for decades, but ice hockey has grown in popularity in Mexico since the 1960s.

The Jamaica national ice hockey team is the national men's ice hockey team of Jamaica. They are controlled by the Jamaican Olympic Ice Hockey Federation and became an associate member of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) since 18 May 2012. Jamaica is currently not ranked in the IIHF World Ranking and has not entered in any IIHF World Championship events. Jamaica made its international debut in the 2019 Amerigol LATAM Cup.

The Egypt national ice hockey team is the national men's ice hockey team of Egypt. Egypt is not a member of the IIHF and does not have a national ice hockey governing body, but has competed internationally including at the 2023 Arab Cup. Currently, as there is no official National Egyptian Ice Hockey team the unofficial group of players from youth to adult generally compete under the private moniker entitled Egypt Ice Hockey.
