The Colombia women's national volleyball team represents Colombia in international competitions in women's volleyball. The squad won its first continental medal at the 1991 edition of the South American Championship.
Boosted by the FIVB's Volleyball Empowerment program, the Colombian women's volleyball team has reached new heights in recent years. [1]

Brazil competed at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia. Brazilian athletes won twelve medals: six silver and six bronze, in the first Summer Olympics edition without a gold medal since the 1976 Summer Olympics. The 205 competitors, 111 men and 94 women, took part in 96 events in 23 sports.
Colombia competed at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, South Korea. 40 competitors, 34 men and 6 women, took part in 34 events in 10 sports.

Argentina participated at the 2007 Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The Argentine delegation counted a total number of 441 athletes. Argentina competed in all events, except for baseball and diving. The delegation's main bet was the Field hockey women's team, Las Leonas, led by Luciana Aymar, who carried the Argentine flag at the opening ceremony.

The Government of Colombia sponsors numerous individuals and teams nationally and internationally through the Ministry of Culture to enable sportspeople to represent Colombia in competition. The achievements of professional sportspeople are a source of national pride for Colombians.

The Venezuela women's national volleyball team is the national team of Venezuela. The dominant forces in women's volleyball on the South American continent are Brazil, Peru and Argentina. The team's highest achievement was during the 2008 South American Olympic Qualification Tournament, defeating Peru in the finals and becoming the only South American team other than Brazil and Peru to compete at the Olympics.
Beach volleyball was introduced at the Summer Olympic Games in the 1992 Games as a demonstration event, and has been an official Olympic sport since 1996. The United States is the only country to win medals in every edition.

Diana Karina Estrada Santana is a female beach volleyball player from Mexico, who won the gold medal in the women's beach team competition at the NORCECA Beach Volleyball Circuit 2008 in Guadalajara, Jalisco, partnering Martha Revuelta. Later, in September 2008, she competed with her sister Paola Estrada, at the Internacional de Puerto Vallarta Beach Volleyball Tournament in Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, winning the Bronze medal.

Colombia competed at the 2019 Parapan American Games held from August 23 to September 1, 2019 in Lima, Peru. In total, athletes representing Colombia won 47 gold medals, 36 silver medals and 50 bronze medals and the country finished in 4th place in the medal table.
