Combined Aptitude Test (CAT) is an exam for admission into the courses MBBS, BDS, BE, B.Arch, MCA, MBA in colleges in Maharashtra, India. This exam should not be confused with Common Admission Test conducted by IIMs.
It was added to the selection procedure by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) in civil services preliminary exams.

According to the test-owning company, the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC), the GMAT assesses analytical writing and problem-solving abilities, while also addressing data sufficiency, logic, and critical reasoning skills that it believes to be vital to real-world business and management success. It can be taken up to five times a year but no more than eight times total. Attempts must be at least 16 days apart.
The Graduate Record Examinations (GRE) is a standardized test that is an admissions requirement for many graduate schools in the United States and Canada and few in other countries. The GRE is owned and administered by Educational Testing Service (ETS). The test was established in 1936 by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching.

The Common Admission Test (CAT) is a computer based test for admission in a graduate management program. The test consists of three sections: Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC), Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR) and Quantitative Ability (QA). The exam is taken online over a period of three hours, with one hour per section. In 2020, due to the COVID precautions, IIM Indore decided to conducted the CAT Exam in 2 hours with 40 minutes devoted to each section. The Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) started this exam and use the test for selecting students for their business administration programs. The test is conducted every year by one of the IIMs based on a policy of rotation.

Joint Entrance Examination – Advanced (JEE-Advanced), formerly the Indian Institutes of Technology-Joint Entrance Examination (IIT-JEE), is an academic examination held annually in India. It is conducted by one of the seven zonal IITs under the guidance of the Joint Admission Board (JAB). It is the sole prerequisite for admission to the Indian Institutes of Technology. Other universities—such as the Indian Institute of Petroleum and Energy (IIPE), the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology, the Indian Institute of Space Technology(IIST), the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISERs), and the Indian Institute of Science(IISc)—use the score obtained on the JEE-Advanced exam as the basis for admission. The JEE score is also used as a possible basis for admission by Indian applicants to non-Indian universities such as the University of Cambridge and National University of Singapore. The examination is organised each year by one of the IITs, on a round-robin rotation pattern. It has a very low qualification rate The qualification rate of the JEE-Advanced in 2017 was approximately 0.92%.

National Institute of Design or (NIDs) are autonomous public design schools located across India. NIDs are in Ahmedabad (Gujarat), Bangalore (Karnataka), Kurukshetra (Haryana), Vijayawada and Jorhat (Assam) and Bhopal. The institutes functions as an autonomous body under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. NIDs are recognised by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research under Ministry of Science and Technology, the government of India, as a scientific and industrial design research organisation. They are accorded as Institutes of National Importance by Act of Parliament, under the National Institute of Design Act, 2014.
Advanced Placement examinations are exams offered in United States by the College Board and are taken each May by students. The tests are the culmination of year-long Advanced Placement (AP) courses. AP exams have a multiple-choice section and a free-response section.
The All India Pre-Medical test/ Pre-Dental Entrance Test was an annual medical entrance examination in India. The exam was conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) but is now replaced by NEET-UG by National Testing Agency.
National Testing Service - Pakistan (NTS) is an organization in Pakistan that administers academic performance evaluation tests. The National Eligibility Entrance Test (Postgraduate) is a qualifying and ranking examination in India, for students who wish to study various postgraduate Doctor of Medicine (MD), Master of Surgery (MS) and diploma courses, in government or private medical colleges in the country. This exam replaced All India Post Graduate Medical Entrance Examination (AIPGMEE).
