Copenhagen is an upcoming American science fiction espionage thriller television series created by Thomas Brandon. The series is executive produced by James Wan for Peacock and stars Simu Liu and Melissa Barrera.
In the near future, an intelligence agent is hacked and must prove his allegiance. [1]
The espionage techno-thriller was picked up by Peacock in February 2024. [2] Thomas Brandon serves as creator, writer and executive producer for the series alongside co-showrunner and executive producer Jennifer Yale. James Wan, Michael Clear and Rob Hackett are executive producers for Atomic Monster, with Simu Liu also an executive producer. Mark Winemaker and Jet Wilkinson will also executive produce, with Wilkinson directing the first two episodes. [3]
The cast is led by Simu Liu and Melissa Barrera and includes Sinclair Daniel, Brian d'Arcy James, Mark O'Brien and Kathleen Chalfant as series regulars. [4] In October, the title of the series had been revealed as Copenhagen. [5] In November, Sara Amini joined the cast in a major recurring role as Ellie, [6] with Saul Rubinek revealed the next month. [7]
Principal photography began on October 21, 2024, in Toronto, and it is expected to wrap on March 5, 2025. [5]
Kevin Meade Williamson is an American screenwriter, director, and producer. He is known for developing and writing the screenplay for the slasher film Scream (1996)—which launched the Scream franchise—along with those for Scream 2 (1997) and Scream 4 (2011). Brian d'Arcy James is an American actor and musician. He is known primarily for his Broadway roles, including Shrek in Shrek the Musical, Nick Bottom in Something Rotten!, King George III in Hamilton, and The Baker in Into the Woods. He has received five Tony Award nominations for his work. On-screen, he is known for his recurring role as Andy Baker on the Netflix series 13 Reasons Why, Officer Krupke in West Side Story, and reporter Matt Carroll in Spotlight.

Simu Liu is a Canadian actor. He is known for portraying Shang-Chi in the 2021 Marvel Cinematic Universe film Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. He also played Jung Kim in the CBC Television sitcom Kim's Convenience from 2016 to 2021, and one of the Ken dolls in Barbie (2023). He received nominations at the ACTRA Awards and Canadian Screen Awards for his work in Blood and Water.
