Corey Raymond (born September 28, 1969) is an American football coach, and former player. He is currently the Defensive Backs coach at LSU.

Playing career

Raymond played cornerback at LSU before being signed by the New York Giants as an undrafted free agent in 1992. [1] Raymond also played for the Detroit Lions. [1]

Coaching career

Raymond began his coaching career in 2003 at his alma mater, New Iberia High School in New Iberia, Louisiana. [2] He then moved to Westgate High School in Iberia Parish, Louisiana from 2004 to 2005. [2]

Starting in 2006, Raymond moved to the college coaching ranks. He interned at his college alma mater, LSU. [2] From 2007 to 2008, he was the assistant strength and conditioning coach at LSU. [2] From 2009 to 2010, Raymond was the cornerbacks coach at Utah State. [3] He was also the defensive backs coach for the Indiana Hoosiers during winter 2011, but did not coach during the regular season at Indiana. [4] Raymond then became the Nebraska Cornhuskers secondary coach for the 2011 season. [5]

In 2012, Raymond returned to LSU as the defensive backs coach and assistant head coach. [2] [6] In 2017, Raymond became cornerbacks coach with Bill Busch taking over as safeties coach. [7] In 2020, Raymond received the additional title of recruiting coordinator at LSU. [8]

He was announced as a part of Billy Napier’s Florida staff for 2022.

Florida parted ways with Raymond in November 2023. [9] He was officially hired by LSU on January 16, 2024. [10]

Robert Steeples is an American football former player and most recently Cornerbacks coach for LSU Football. He is the former assistant special teams coach for the Minnesota Vikings of the National Football League (NFL). As a cornerback, he played college football for both the University of Missouri and the University of Memphis. He entered the league as an undrafted free agent for the St. Louis Rams. He also played for the Vikings, Kansas City Chiefs and Dallas Cowboys. Prior to becoming an NFL assistant coach and Collegiate defensive backs coach, Steeples served as Head Coach at De Smet Jesuit for 5 seasons, from 2016 to 2020. During his tenure as head coach, Steeples was named the 2020 All-American Bowl National Coach of the year, 2019 MFCA Coach of the year, and led De Smet to an undefeated state championship title in 2019. During his final 3 seasons as head coach, Steeples amassed a record of 29-4, including 20 consecutive wins, back-to-back State Championship appearances, and a peak national ranking of #8 in the country.

Pete Jenkins is a former American football coach and player. His coaching career spanned a 54-year period from 1964 to 2017 at the high school, college and professional level. Having mentored numerous NFL and college defensive line coaches, Jenkins is credited with revolutionizing the way the position is taught and coached and revered as one of the greatest defensive line coaches in football history.
