Greg McMahon (born January 2, 1960) is an American football coach who is the special teams coordinator for the Tulane Green Wave. He is the former special teams coordinator at Louisiana State University (LSU). [1]
A native of Rantoul, Illinois, McMahon was a defensive back for Eastern Illinois, graduating in 1982.
McMahon began his coaching career at his alma mater, Eastern Illinois, in 1982. From 1983–1984, he coached at the University of Minnesota [2] and at the University of North Alabama from 1985–1987. He then moved on to two one-year coaching stints at Southern Illinois in 1988 and Valdosta State in 1989.
From 1990–1991, McMahon was the tight end, offensive tackle and special teams coach for the University of Nevada at Las Vegas. McMahon then spent 13 seasons (1992–2004) as an assistant coach at the University of Illinois as a wide receiver and tight end/special teams coach. [2] He then spent one year as tight end/special teams coach at East Carolina in 2005.
McMahon moved to the NFL as the assistant special teams coach for the New Orleans Saints from 2006–2007 and special teams coordinator from 2008–2016. [3]
In 2017, McMahon became the special teams consultant at LSU. [4] On January 12, 2018, he was named special teams coordinator at LSU. [5]
McMahon retired from coaching following the 2021 season. [6]
On March 17, 2022, it was announced that McMahon was hired as the Special teams coordinator/Tight ends coach of the Houston Gamblers of the United States Football League. [7]
On September 13, 2022, McMahon was announced as Special teams coordinator of the Houston Roughnecks of the XFL [8]
Following the Roughnecks season, McMahon returned to college football, joining Willie Fritz's Tulane Green Wave football staff as the special teams coordinator in May of 2023. [9]
Harold Wade Phillips is an American football coach who is currently the head coach of the San Antonio Brahmas of the United Football League (UFL). He has served as head coach of the Denver Broncos, Buffalo Bills, Dallas Cowboys, and Houston Roughnecks. He has also served as interim head coach for the New Orleans Saints, Atlanta Falcons, and the Houston Texans. Additionally, Phillips has long been considered to be among the best defensive coordinators in the NFL. In his long career, he has served as defensive coordinator in eight separate stints with seven different franchises. Multiple players under Phillips' system have won Defensive Player of the Year: Reggie White, Bryce Paup, Bruce Smith, J. J. Watt and Aaron Donald. Others under Phillips have won Defensive Rookie of the Year: Mike Croel and Shawne Merriman. In Phillips' lone Super Bowl victory, a defensive player would be named Super Bowl MVP: Von Miller.
Tim Lewis is an American football coach and former player who is the co-defensive coordinator for the Arlington Renegades of the United Football League (UFL). He played college football for the University of Pittsburgh and was drafted by the Green Bay Packers of the National Football League (NFL) in the first round of the 1983 NFL Draft. Following a neck injury that cut his playing career short after four seasons, Lewis began serving as a coach in the collegiate and professional levels and obtained his first head coaching position with the Birmingham Iron of the Alliance of American Football (AAF) in 2019. He also served as the defensive backs coach for the St. Louis BattleHawks of the XFL until the league folded in 2020.
Jeff Jagodzinski is an American football coach and former player. He was previously the offensive coordinator at Georgia State University. Jagodzinski served as he head football coach at Boston College in 2007 and 2008, leading the Eagles to a record of 20–8 and consecutive appearances in the ACC Championship Game. In 2010, he was the head coach of the United Football League's Omaha Nighthawks.
Thomas "Pepper" Johnson is an American football coach and former linebacker who played in the National Football League (NFL) for 13 seasons, the first seven of which were for the New York Giants. He won two Super Bowls with the Giants before playing for the Cleveland Browns, Detroit Lions and New York Jets.

He played in the National Football League for the San Diego Chargers, Detroit Lions, and the Philadelphia Eagles. McKnight played college football at Drake University.
Jeff McInerney is an American professional football coach and former player who is the current defensive quality control and special teams coordinator for the New Jersey Generals of the United States Football League (USFL). He served as head football coach at Central Connecticut State University (CCSU) from 2006 to 2013, compiling a record of 48–41.
Curtis Johnson, Jr. is an American football coach who is the head coach for the Houston Roughnecks of the United Football League (UFL). He was the head coach at Tulane University from 2012 to 2015.
Thomas Raymond Mason is an American football coach and former player. He served as the interim head football coach at Southern Methodist University (SMU) for the final 10 games of the 2014 season upon the resignation of June Jones, compiling a record of 1–9. Before that, he had been SMU's defensive coordinator since 2008. Mason also served as the interim head football coach at Boise State University for the first ten games of the 1996 season, compiling a record of 1–9.
Phillip Galiano, is an American football coach who is the assistant special teams coach for the New Orleans Saints of the National Football League (NFL). Galiano played college football for the Shippensburg University Raiders.
Mark Criner is an American football coach. He currently serves as the outside linebackers coach for the Southern Miss Golden Eagles football team. At the college football level, he served defensive coordinator for six seasons at the University of Idaho, and also held the same position at Middle Tennessee, Cincinnati, Portland State, the original XFL's Las Vegas Outlaws, and CSU–Pueblo. He has also worked as a defensive assistant at Minnesota, Eastern Michigan, Utah State, Lamar, LSU, the Alliance of American Football's Atlanta Legends, and Tulane. He was also the linebackers coach and assistant special teams coach for the Seattle Dragons.
Bill Johnson is an American football coach and former defensive lineman. He was recently the defensive line coach for the Houston Roughnecks of the XFL.

The team was founded by Vince McMahon’s Alpha Entertainment as the Seattle Dragons, and were owned-and-operated by Dwayne Johnson’s Alpha Acquico. The Sea Dragons played their home games at Lumen Field.
The Los Angeles Wildcats were a professional American football team based in the Los Angeles metropolitan area. The team was founded by Vince McMahon’s Alpha Entertainment and was an owned-and-operated member of the new XFL. The Wildcats played their home games at Dignity Health Sports Park. On March 8, 2020, the Wildcats played their final game against the Tampa Bay Vipers, which was the final XFL game before the league suspended operations due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
