The Cuttack Development Authority (CDA) is an agency which is responsible for development and beautification of Cuttack, the Silver city of Odisha, India. It was established on 1 September 1983.

CDA is responsible for creating development plans, regulating development and land use, constructing housing colonies, commercial complexes, and providing public amenities like water supply, drainage, sewerage, transportation, and social facilities.

Cuttack is the former capital and the second largest city in the Indian state of Odisha. It is the headquarters of the Cuttack district. The name of the city is an anglicised form of Kataka which literally means The Fort, a reference to the ancient Barabati Fort around which the city initially developed. Cuttack is known as the Millennium City as well as the Silver City due to its history of 1000 years and famous silver filigree works. It is considered as the judicial capital of Odisha as the Orissa High Court is located here. Cuttack district is one of the 30 districts of Odisha state in India. It is located in the coastal part of the state and its administrative headquarters are located in the city of Cuttack. As of 2011 Census, after Ganjam, it is the second most populous district of Odisha, with a population of 2,624,470. The name is an anglicized form of Kataka or Katak meaning Fort – referring to the Barabati Fort. The district is bisected by the river Mahanadi and its numerous distributaries and occupies a large portion of the river's delta. It is bounded by the Angul, Dhenkanal, Nayagarh and Khurda districts to the west while its southern and eastern boundaries touch Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara and Jajpur districts.

Capital Development Authority, is a public benefit corporation responsible for providing municipal services in Islamabad Capital Territory. The CDA was established on 14 June 1960 by executive order entitled Pakistan Capital Regulation. As of 2016, most of CDA's municipal services and departments have been transferred to the newly created Islamabad Metropolitan Corporation, although CDA is still in charge of estate management, project execution and sector developments.

The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) is the urban planning agency of Hyderabad in the Indian state of Telangana. The HMDA administers the Hyderabad Metropolitan Region, spread over an area of 7,257 km2 (2,802 sq mi) and covers the districts of Hyderabad district, Medchal district, part of Rangareddy district, Bhuvanagiri District, Sangareddy district, Medak district and Siddipet district. HMDA was formed by the merging of the following erstwhile entities: Hyderabad Urban Development Authority (HUDA), Hyderabad Airport Development Authority (HADA), Cyberabad Development Authority (CDA) and Buddha Poornima Project Authority (BPPA). Mahanadi Vihar is a residential area in Cuttack, Orissa, India. It is situated in a tongue of land formed by the Mahanadi River and National Highway 5. The area is named after the river and comes under the control of the CDA. Schools, a college, hospitals, temples, parks, playgrounds, markets and banks can be found there and Dussera and Puja take place there.

Alipur and Farash are two separate villages which are centuries old, whereas "Farash Town" is a settlement on the land acquired by the Capital Development Authority from the people of surrounding villages like Farash and Punjgran. Alipur and Farash, in Islamabad, are located on the Lehtrar road approx. 17km from Rawal lake and 9km from Chak Shahzad. Farash is a Capital Development Authority approved model urban shelter scheme which came into being in 1990. Bhubaneswar–Cuttack Police Commissionerate(Odia:ଭୁବନେଶ୍ଵର-କଟକ ପୋଲିସ କମିଶନରେଟ),established in 2008, is a city police force with primary responsibilities in law enforcement and investigation within the metropolitan area of Bhubaneswar-Cuttack. It was formed under the Orissa Urban Police Act, 2003 by a gazette notification which came into effect on 1 January 2008. It has 43 police stations under its jurisdiction. Mr. S.K. The Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI) is a municipal authority established under the ICT Local Government Act 2015 in Islamabad Capital Territory, Pakistan. The corporation is headed by the Mayor and includes Chairman UCs and others. The MCI is responsible for various activities in the capital territory including waste management, environmental protections, and developmental works to name a few. According to its official website the Mayor has outlined various initiatives to be taken for the development of the city including; construction of a town hall, provision of water supply from Ghazi Barotha dam, formation of a solid waste management company, etc. Since its inception it was established that the functions of planning, building control section, sanitation, road maintenance, environment, water supply, play grounds, sports directorate and all municipal services will be overtaken by the Islamabad Corporation, transferring it from CDA hands.
