Cypress High School is a public high school in the city of Cypress, California. It was founded in 1973 and serves grades 9 through 12. Cypress is one of eight high schools in the Anaheim Union High School District (AUHSD).

History

Cypress was first established in 1973, and was honored as a California Distinguished School in 2007. [10]

Athletics

Cypress's sports teams compete in the Empire League and the CIF Southern Section. [11] The school mascot is the centurion of Roman fame. The school colors are navy blue, orange, and white. In 2007, baseball team was ranked in the Top 25 for all prep teams nationwide. [12]

Performing arts

The Cypress High School Centurion Imperial Brigade performed in the 2015 Rose Parade in Pasadena, California on New Year's Day. [14] After the 2020 online season they changed their name to Sound In Motion.

Cypress currently has three competitive show choirs: the mixed-gender "High Voltage" and "Shockwaves" as well as the all-female "Thunderstorms". [15] The program has fluctuated over the years from four show choirs to a singular 15-member group. [16] The show choirs formerly hosted an annual competition entitled Star Reflections. [17]

He also played for the New York Yankees and the St. Louis Cardinals. After his playing career, Gallego served as a major league coach.

Bell High School is a public high school in Bell, California, United States. The school, which serves grades 9 through 12, is a part of District 6 of the Los Angeles Unified School District. Bell High’s motto is "Honor lies in honest toil", its mascot is the eagle, and the school colors are purple and gold. They are rivals with the Huntington Park Spartans.

Canyon High School is a traditional four-year high school located in the Anaheim Hills community in the city of Anaheim, California and is an International Baccalaureate school. It is located on 40 acres (160,000 m2) of land on Imperial Highway between the cross streets of Santa Ana Canyon Road and Nohl Ranch Road, and serves students who reside in Anaheim Hills and a small portion of Yorba Linda north of La Palma Avenue and east of Yorba Linda Boulevard. The school, which opened its doors in 1973, has a student population of 2,400. The school primarily serves the community of Anaheim Hills as well as parts of East Anaheim and Orange, and was designated a California Distinguished School in 2007 by the California Department of Education. The school's fight song is Washington and Lee Swing. The school is currently ranked as one of the top 1,000 high schools in the United States by Newsweek at number 128, a distinction given to less than 1% of high schools nationally. Ocean View High School (OVHS) is a public comprehensive college-prep academy located in Huntington Beach, California. OVHS was established in 1976; their mascot is the Seahawks. Currently, there are approximately 1,350 enrolled students. It is part of the HBUHSD school district, with five other high schools. The school is unique in that it features the only IB Program in the district. The implementation of “embedded tutorial” at the end of each period two years ago resulted in the biggest drop in the total number of D and F grades for students in the district. It features a business academy that has 170 participants, the sole Mandarin Chinese foreign language program in the district, and a college preparation curriculum. OVHS is also a two-time California Distinguished School.

The Trinity League is a high school athletic conference in Southern California, part of the CIF Southern Section. The League is regarded as one of the most competitive high school leagues in the United States. Most famous for football, the Trinity League is extremely competitive in its other sports as well. Baseball, tennis, and water polo players are top recruits and are some of the most talented Division 1 players in the nation. This makes the Trinity League the toughest league in high school sports. For the fall 2023 season, High School Football America rated it the toughest league in the nation, with the top two nationally ranked teams and five out of the six ranked the top 300. In 2021, three of the six programs had been ranked in the top 10 in the country, with five in the top 200.
