On August 5, 2024, DMV was given a pilot order by CBS. [6] The pilot was written by Dana Klein and directed by Trent O'Donnell, and was filmed in Montreal, Canada in November 2024. [7] [8] Klein also executive produced the project alongside O'Donnell, Aaron Kaplan, Wendi Trilling, and Robyn Meisinger. [9] On April 22, 2025, DMV was picked to series by CBS. Production companies involved producing the series are Anonymous Content, CBS Studios, Kapital Entertainment, and TrillTV. [1] Filming for the series began on July 28, 2025, in Montreal.
