Floating Test Range (FTR) is a ship designed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation of India which will serve as a missile testing range.
The Floating Test Range (FTR) is a ship designed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation which is expected to serve as a testing range for missiles. [1] It has a displacement of 10,000 tonnes (9,842 long tons ) and a length of 200 m (656 ft 2 in) with a width of 60 m (196 ft 10 in). [2] The ship is equipped with an Electro-optical missile tracking system, a S-Band radar, and tracking and telemetry systems. [2] Facilities such as a Launch pad, a Mission control center and a Launch control centre are also present. [1]
The FTR will capable of launching missiles with ranges up to around 1,500 km (930 mi). [2]
The FTR will enable DRDO to overcome some of the disadvantages of testing missiles from the Wheeler Island. It will enable testing of missiles at different trajectories and altitudes and various ranges by avoiding landmass and sea-lanes related constraints. [1] [2] Since missile testing from the FTR can be performed in the ocean, minimal safety precautions will be required. [2] This will facilitate faster development of missile projects since advanced warnings and notices to ships and planes would not be required, [2] and will minimise the risk of civilian damage. The FTR is expected to facilitate the development of the Phase-II of the Indian Ballistic Missile Defence Programme. [2] [1]
Construction work on the ship started in 2015 and was initially expected to be completed within 3–4 years. [1] As of October 2019, the ship is expected to be fully ready by 2020. [2] [ needs update ]

The Integrated Guided Missile Development Programme (IGMDP) was an Indian Ministry of Defence programme for the research and development of the comprehensive range of missiles. The programme was managed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and Ordnance Factories Board in partnership with other Indian government political organisations. The project started in 1982–83 under the leadership of Abdul Kalam who oversaw its ending in 2008 after these strategic missiles were successfully developed.

Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL) is one of India's manufacturers of ammunitions and missile systems. It was founded in 1970 in Hyderabad, Telangana, India. BDL was established to be a manufacturing base for guided weapon systems and begun with a pool of engineers drawn from Indian Ordnance Factories, DRDO and aerospace industries, It began by producing a first generation anti-tank guided missile - the French SS11B1. This product was a culmination of a licence agreement the Government of India entered into with Aerospatiale. The Indian Ballistic Missile Defence Program is an initiative to develop and deploy a multi-layered ballistic missile defence system to protect India from ballistic missile attacks. Phase 1 has been successfully tested and completed and deployment awaits final official permission. Phase 2 is under development.
The Nag missile, also called "Prospina" for the land-attack version, is an Indian third-generation, all-weather, fire-and-forget, lock-on after launch, anti-tank guided missile (ATGM) with an operational range of 500 m to 20 km. It has a single-shot hit probability of 90% and a ten-year, maintenance-free shelf life. The Nag has five variants under development: a land version, for a mast-mounted system; the helicopter-launched Nag (HELINA) also known as Dhruvastra; a "man-portable" version (MPATGM); an air-launched version which will replace the current imaging infra-red (IIR) to millimetric-wave (mmW) active radar homing seeker; and the Nag Missile Carrier (NAMICA) "tank buster", which is a modified BMP-2 Infantry Fighting Vehicle (IFV) produced under license in India by Ordnance Factory Medak (OFMK).
Agni-V is an Indian nuclear-capable intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation. The missile is believed to have a range of around 5,500 to 8,000 km. It is a three-stage, road-mobile and solid-fueled intercontinental ballistic missile which is transported by a truck and launched via a canister.
Swordfish is an Indian active electronically scanned array (AESA) long-range tracking radar specifically developed to counter ballistic missile threat. It will be a part of the Indian Ballistic Missile Defense Programme. First testing of this radar was in March 2009. Main aim of the test was to validate the capabilities of the Swordfish Long Range Tracking Radar (LRTR). "The missile to be hit will be fired from a longer distance than it was in the earlier test. DRDO tested whether the radar could track the incoming missile from that distance or not," said a member of the project. This radar is an acknowledged derivative of the Israeli EL/M-2080 Green Pine long range radar, which is the critical component of that country's Arrow missile defense system. However, it differs from the Israeli system as it employs Indian Transmit Receive modules, signal processing, computers and power supplies. It is also more powerful than the base Green Pine system and was developed to meet India's specific BMD needs.

The K family of missiles, named after Indian scientist and former president A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, is a family of submarine-launched ballistic missiles (SLBM) developed by India to boost its second strike capabilities and thus augment its nuclear deterrence. Information about this family of missiles has mostly been kept classified. It is reported that 'K missiles' are faster, lighter and stealthier than their Agni missile counterparts. High Energy Materials Research Laboratory (HEMRL) developed a new formulation of composite propellant that is more efficient and provide greater thrust compare to Agni missile series. The objective behind the development is to make K missile family faster and lighter without compromising on operational range.

INS Anvesh, is a missile range instrumentation ship built for the Indian Navy. Designed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and built by Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL), the ship was conceived to serve as a sea-based platform for India's ballistic missile defence program. INS Dhruv (A40) is a research vessel and missile range instrumentation ship built by India's Hindustan Shipyard Limited (HSL). The ship was earlier only known by its shipyard designated yard number as VC-11184.
On 27 March 2019, India tested an anti-satellite weapon (ASAT) during an operation code named Mission Shakti. The target of the test was a satellite present in a low Earth orbit, which was hit with a kinetic kill vehicle.
