Puneeth's first lead role was in 2002's Appu. In a career spanning three decades, he has won one National Film Award, four Karnataka State Film Awards, six Filmfare Awards South and five SIIMA awards. He was conferred with the Doctorate by Mysuru University. The Karnataka Government conferred the state's highest civilian award, Karnataka Ratna, to Puneeth Rajkumar on 1 November 2022, posthumously.
The second season of Airtel Super Singer Junior - Thamizhagathin Chellakuralukkana Thedal(the search for the sweet voice of Tamil Nadu) premiered on 22 June 2009. The music competition reality TV show was again telecast on Vijay TV, and Bharti Airtel returned to sponsor this show. Episodes were telecast between Monday and Thursday each week at 9:00 pm. Children aged 6 years to 14 showcased their singing talent. The Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) is an annual festival based in Melbourne founded in 2010. It was previously funded by Victoria State Government. It is presented by Film Victoria, and the provider is chosen through a tender process. The current tender provider is Mind Blowing Films, run by Mitu Bhowmick Lange who is the Festival Director of IFFM. The festival has currently been provided with State Government funding until 2018. Tamizh Padam 2: Police Athiyayam, or simply Tamizh Padam 2, is a 2018 Indian Tamil-language parody film written and directed by C. S. Amudhan and produced by S. Sashikanth and Ramachandra of YNOT Studios. A spiritual sequel to the successful Thamizh Padam (2010), the film stars Shiva, Iswarya Menon, Sathish, and Disha Pandey. The third season of the Indian Malayalam-language reality television game show Bigg Boss premiered on 14 February 2021. It is produced by Endemol Shine India under the control of Banijay and broadcast on Asianet with Mohanlal as the host.
