Daniel Matthew Mustapic (born 23 August 1960) is a New Zealand curler [1] from Dunedin. He is a two-time Pacific-Asian champion (2000, 2004) and a four-time New Zealand men's champion (2003, 2005, 2006, 2012).

Contents

He participated in the 2006 Winter Olympics, where the New Zealand men's team finished in tenth place.

Prior to emigrating to New Zealand, Mustapic was active in the Ontario curling scene. While living in Hamilton [2] and curling out of Kitchener, he won the 1994 Welton Beauchamp Classic. [3]

The Ottawa Curling Club is an historic curling club located on O'Connor Street in the Centretown neighbourhood of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It is the oldest curling club in Ottawa, established in 1851 by Allan Gilmour as the Bytown Curling Club. The Club first played on the Rideau Canal until 1858. It subsequently moved to different locations around the city until finally settling at its current location on O'Connor in 1916. In 1931 the club was expanded to the current capacity of 5 curling sheets. Artificial ice was also installed at that time.

John C. Morris is a Canadian curler, and two-time Olympic gold medallist from Canmore, Alberta. Morris played third for the Kevin Martin team until April 24, 2013. Morris, author of the book Fit to Curl, is the son of Maureen and Earle Morris, inventor of the "Stabilizer" curling broom. Morris grew up in Gloucester, Ontario and at the age of five began curling at the Navy Curling Club.

The John Shea Insurance Canada Cup Qualifier was an annual curling bonspiel held at the Ottawa and Rideau Curling Clubs in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. In odd years, the event was a qualifier for the men's Canada Cup of Curling while in even years the event is the women's qualifier. It was held annually in December, and was part of the World Curling Tour.

Lisa Colleen Weagle is a Canadian curler from Ottawa, Ontario. Weagle was the lead on the Rachel Homan team from 2010 until March 12, 2020, when the team announced they would be parting ways with her. She then joined Team Jennifer Jones for two seasons until the team disbanded on March 15, 2022. Weagle was known for her ability to make the eponymous "Weagle" shot, which the Homan rink had used in high frequency while she was a member of the team.

The 1979 Macdonald Brier, the Canadian men's curling championship was held from March 4 to 10, 1979 at the Ottawa Civic Centre in Ottawa, Ontario. For the second straight year, the total attendance for the week set a then-record where 89,081 attended the event. This was the last Brier where the round robin would determine the champion without a playoff.

David Seth "Splash" Mathers ; born May 12, 1991) is a Canadian curler from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. He currently plays second for the Glenn Howard rink.

The 1996 Maple Leaf Canadian Junior Curling Championships, the men's and women's national junior curling championships of Canada, were held February 3 to 11 at the Shamrock and Granite Curling Clubs in Edmonton, Alberta. The 1996 event was the first to be sponsored by Maple Leaf Foods.

The 1985 Pepsi Canadian Junior Men's Curling Championship was held February 17–24 in St. John's, Newfoundland. Team Alberta, skipped by 2010 Olympic champion skip Kevin Martin won the event, defeating Prince Edward Island in the finals. It was the first major championship win for Martin, one of the most decorated curlers in history. His win earned Martin a spot as the alternate for Canada at the 1985 World Junior Curling Championships, and his team a spot representing Canada at the 1986 World Junior Curling Championships, where they would win a silver medal.

Stephen "Steve" Hewitt is an Australian curler from Glen Waverley, Victoria.

The 2000 Pacific Curling Championships were held from November 8 to 11 in Esquimalt, British Columbia, Canada.
