Daniel Antonsson is a musician and songwriter from Gothenburg, Sweden, formerly playing guitar in Dimension Zero. [1] He is also the former bassist for Dark Tranquillity, playing on the album We Are the Void , and former guitarist for Soilwork, recording with them on their album Sworn to a Great Divide . [2] He uses Esp Nv-std guitar and Mayones Guitars & Basses.

His music career started in a band called "Pathos".

On 18 March 2014, a heavy metal band considered a supergroup with mostly Swedish members named Akani, was announced and formed by Antonsson himself on Co-Guitar, Jorge Rosado (Merauder, ex-Ill Niño) on Vocals, Anders Björler (At the Gates, ex-The Haunted) on Co-Guitar, Victor Brandt (Dominion, ex-Aeon, ex-Entombed, ex-Satyricon) on Bass guitar & Anders Lowgren (Dead Reprise) on Drums. On the same day, the band released a song titled "Who's to Blame?" from their upcoming four-song seven-inch single called "Santa Muerte", where the album art was released as well. Santa Muerte was released in March 2014 through Demons Run Amok Records and the release was produced, recorded and mixed by the band themselves and with Martin Jacobsson at Rovljud Studios in Örebro.

Sworn to a Great Divide is the seventh studio album by Swedish melodic death metal band Soilwork. The album was released on 19 October 2007 for Europe and on 23 October 2007 for the US, both through Nuclear Blast. Everything aside from vocals was recorded at Not Quite Studios in Helsingborg. This is the only album to include Daniel Antonsson on guitar who replaced founding member Peter Wichers after his late 2005 departure. It is also the last album to feature long-time guitarist Ola Frenning who left Soilwork in February 2008.

Construct is the tenth studio album by Swedish melodic death metal band Dark Tranquillity. It was released on 27 May 2013 through Century Media Records. A music video for "Uniformity", directed by Patric Ullaeus, was released on 10 May 2013. The album was written during what the band described as their "darkest period" and drew critical praise for its melodrama and darkness. Construct would be the band's last studio album with founding member guitarist Martin Henriksson as he left the band in early 2016 due to loss of passion for playing music.

The album is the band's first to include guitarist Johan Reinholdz, the final with founding drummer Anders Jivarp and bassist Anders Iwers, who left the band in August 2021, and the only with guitarist Christopher Amott before his departure in July 2023. It is also the first release since We Are The Void (2010) to be recorded as a six-piece.
