Projector (stylized : projector, or on the reissue p.r.o.j.e.c.t.o.r.) is the fourth studio album by Swedish melodic death metal band Dark Tranquillity.
In January 1999, with the album recorded months prior, and its release months ahead, Fredrik Johansson and Dark Tranquillity mutually split. It was due to Johansson wanting to focus more on being a father, meaning he couldn't tour with the band. Johansson didn’t want to leave his family anymore and he wanted to keep a day job as opposed to the difficulties of being in the music industry. There were mutually no hard feelings between both parties, but with all of Johansson's reasons, the band still saw it as a lack of commitment to Dark Tranquillity as well. The album marks the last release with Johansson.
With difficulties always finding a new guitar player, a switch then occurred in the band when Johansson's empty guitarist position was then taken the band's bassist Martin Henriksson, who was reluctant at the time to do the switch, due to his belief of being an average guitar player, but still went on to do so. To take Henriksson's bassist position, the band hired Michael Nicklasson.
Lastly, since the album included a lot of piano, keyboards and electronics and the band wanting it to become an integral part of the band's later sound, the band also hired an additional full-time member, Martin Brändström as their first keyboardist ever to complete the new lineup to tour for the album. With the lineup, they played live bonus tracks of the reissue of this album and filmed a music video for "ThereIn".
Projector marked a noteworthy progression in the band's style, featuring piano and clean guitar work akin to that of gothic metal. Vocalist Mikael Stanne's prevalent use of clean vocals differentiated this release from their previous work. Because of its deviation from the band's previous efforts, Projector was met with a mixed reception by longtime fans, but it also attracted a fair number of new listeners.[ citation needed ]

The limited edition digipak includes the bonus track "Exposure". However, there were problems with the pressings because not all the digipaks include "Exposure" and there are some traditional releases that include the track. The Japanese version of the album has different cover art and includes a booklet with more photos and biographical information. The 2009 reissue has digitally remastered audio.

Lunar Strain is the debut studio album by Swedish melodic death metal band In Flames, released in April 1994. The album is known for its "folky elements", with the inclusion of violins and acoustic guitars.
Dark Tranquillity is a Swedish melodic death metal band from Gothenburg. They are considered one of the pioneering acts of the Gothenburg metal scene, which also includes bands such as In Flames and At the Gates. Dark Tranquillity is regarded as the Gothenburg fathers in the film entitled Out of Nothing: A DT Documentary released by Century Media, which was filmed in their home town in April 2009.
Damage Done is the sixth studio album by Swedish melodic death metal band Dark Tranquillity. Here, the band returns to a more classic style while holding the changes made in their albums Haven and Projector, especially in the keyboards, but this is the first record since The Mind's I that does not feature clean vocals. Martin Henriksson started doing some "lead guitar riffs" on the record, so the band showed influences from The Gallery in the duality of lead guitars. Mikael Stanne said that the lyrics on this album are about the frailty of life.

All songs were recorded from the Character album, except the live version of "Undo Control" which is from the previously released Live Damage DVD. The Gallery is the second studio album by Swedish melodic death metal band Dark Tranquillity, released on 27 November 1995 by Osmose. It was the first full-length release to feature Mikael Stanne on vocals, as he was previously the rhythm guitarist.
Bengt Mikael Stanne is a Swedish musician, best known as the vocalist and a former rhythm guitarist for the melodic death metal band Dark Tranquillity. Of Chaos and Eternal Night is the third EP by Swedish melodic death metal band Dark Tranquillity. Enter Suicidal Angels is the fourth EP by Swedish melodic death metal band Dark Tranquillity. It was recorded during the sessions for The Mind's I and it was also released as bonus tracks of the reissue of The Mind's I. Another reissue of the EP was released in October 2010 as a Gramophone record. In terms of the standard issue of this album, this is the only Dark Tranquillity release that Martin Henriksson does not have a writing credit. The song "Zodijackyl Light" was also included on The Mind's I. The song "Archetype" is in the vein of industrial and techno.
Hans Martin Knut Henriksson is a former Swedish musician best known for his work with melodic death metal band Dark Tranquillity and was one of the original members, and the main songwriter for the band until he left them in 2016.
Fiction is the eighth studio album by Swedish melodic death metal band Dark Tranquillity. It was released by Napalm Records on 19 April 2007, and by Century Media in the UK on 23 April, and in the US on 24 April.

Vengeance Descending is a double CD reissue by the Greek/Swedish melodic death metal band, Nightrage. It was released by Century Media Records on 19 November 2010. The Sweet Vengeance disc features the bonus track "Gloomy Daydreams" which is a demo version from either their first or second demo which was only for Japanese releases. The Descent into Chaos disc features the song "Black Skies" which was also the Japanese bonus track for that album. This disc also comes with the previously unreleased track "Gallant Deeds" which was sung entirely by Mikael Stanne.
Construct is the tenth studio album by Swedish melodic death metal band Dark Tranquillity. It was released on 27 May 2013 through Century Media Records. A music video for "Uniformity", directed by Patric Ullaeus, was released on 10 May 2013. The album was written during what the band described as their "darkest period" and drew critical praise for its melodrama and darkness. Construct would be the band's last studio album with founding member guitarist Martin Henriksson as he left the band in early 2016 due to loss of passion for playing music.
Atoma is the eleventh studio album by Swedish melodic death metal band Dark Tranquillity. It was released on 4 November 2016 through Century Media Records. Atoma is the band's first studio album with bassist Anders Iwers, who replaced founding member Martin Henriksson, after Henriksson left the band in early 2016 due to loss of passion for playing music. Atoma is the last release to feature founding lead guitarist Niklas Sundin, who would depart from the band in March 2020.
