Danijela Đurović (Montenegrin Cyrillic :ДанијелаЂуровић;born 27 March 1973) is a Montenegrin politician. She served as the president of the Parliament of Montenegro from 28 April 2022 to 30 October 2023. She was a vice president of the Socialist People's Party (SNP) from 2017 to 2021.
She was born in Kotor,SR Montenegro,SFR Yugoslavia on 27 March 1973. She finished middle and part of high school in Herceg Novi,and graduated in Peoria,Illinois. [1]
She earned a bachelor's degree in management engineering from the Faculty of Organizational Sciences in Belgrade and a master's degree in ecology and environmental protection from the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics in Podgorica. [1] [2]
She worked in the company "Generalmarket" d.o.o. Belgrade as the head of the commercial service from 1996 to 2000. From 2000 to 2008,she worked in "Čistoća" d.o.o. Herceg Novi in the field of strategic development and improvement of the quality system,manager of the commercial sector and as an assistant director. [1] [2]
She is the author of several scientific papers in the field of environmental protection and an expert associate and consultant in the field of waste management in the country and abroad. [1]
She is married,and mother of two sons. [1]
She is a member of the Socialist People's Party (SNP) since 2008.
From 2008 to 2012 she performed the duties of the manager of the Herceg Novi Municipality and from 2012 to 2015 she served as the first female President of the Municipal Assembly of Herceg Novi. She was elected vice president of the Municipality of Herceg Novi in 2017. [1] [2]
She was the vice president of SNP from 2017 to 2021.
Following the 2020 parliamentary elections,Đurovićwas elected to the Parliament of Montenegro as part of the For the Future of Montenegro coalition. [2]
On 28 April 2022,Đurovićwas elected President of the Parliament of Montenegro. [3] [4] [2] On 15 May 2023,Đurović,along with government ministers Marko Kovač and Miomir Vojinović,left SNP. [5]
The Socialist People's Party of Montenegro is a political party in Montenegro. It is a social-democratic and socially conservative party,that is positioned on the centre-left on the political spectrum with regard to economic matters. It is supportive of accession of Montenegro to the European Union,and was historically supportive of Serbian–Montenegrin unionism.
Herceg Novi is a coastal town in Montenegro located at the Western entrance to the Bay of Kotor and at the foot of Mount Orjen. It is the administrative center of the Herceg Novi Municipality with around 33,000 inhabitants. The town was founded as a fortress in 1382 by the King of Bosnia,Tvrtko I Kotromanić,and named after Saint Stephen but the name did not stick,instead it became known as Novi (transl. Andrija Mandić is a Montenegrin politician serving as the president of the Parliament of Montenegro since 30 October 2023 and eight-term member of the Parliament. He is the president of the right-wing New Serb Democracy. He was the head of the Democratic Front parliamentary club in the parliament until 2020.
Jelena Đurovic is a Montenegrin journalist,writer and political activist of a Jewish-Montenegrin origin,based between Podgorica,Montenegro and Belgrade,Serbia. Jelena was a founder and Vice President of the Jewish Community of Montenegro. She was the closest associate of the president of the Jewish Community of Montenegro,late Jasha Alfandari. Alfandari and Đurovićcollaborated with major umbrella Jewish organisations until his sudden death on 12 July 2018. Currently,she is a Chairwoman of heterodox lobbying and think tank organisation OJC SEE - Organization for Jewish Cooperation in Southeastern Europe and a member of the Board of the Montenegrin national council in Belgrade,Serbia. For the Future of Montenegro is a mainly cultural conservative and Serb political coalition in Montenegro,formed for the 2020 and 2023 parliamentary elections. It has been described as a grouping that is "pro-Serbian". The coalition common list for 2020 election was led by a Montenegrin university professor,Zdravko Krivokapić. The leader of the list in 2023 is Milan Knežević.

Ne damo Crnu Goru,lit. 'We won't give up Montenegro',is a moderate right,pro-EU,pro-Serbian Orthodox Church,political organization in Montenegro. It became an influential civil and political movement during the 2020 religion law protests. The group was founded by Montenegrin professors and intellectuals in support of the Serbian Orthodox Church-led protests after a controversial law targeted the legal status and the property of the Church. Its founder and first chairman was university professor Zdravko Krivokapić,who led the opposition party For the Future of Montenegro at the 2020 parliamentary election.
On January 17,2022,the smallest of three ruling constituents in the Parliament of Montenegro,United Reform Action,proposed a potential solution in the form of a minority government,as an answer to the political crisis that has been plaguing the country since the summer of 2021,when the largest ruling constituent,the Democratic Front stepped out,putting the parliament into an effective blockade. The proposed minority government would consist of the United Reform Action,Civis,Socialist People's Party of Montenegro,Bosniak Party,Democratic Party,New Democratic Force,and Albanian Alternative. Even though the parties mentioned have 14 seats in the parliament,Dritan Abazović,the Deputy Prime Minister of Montenegro and the president of the United Reform Action,stated that he expects the support of either the opposition or the ruling parties,or ideally both,and has invited all 81 MPs of the Montenegrin parliament to support the initiative.
