The chief financial officer (CFO) is an officer of a company or organization that is assigned the primary responsibility for managing the company's finances,including financial planning,management of financial risks,record-keeping,and financial reporting. In some sectors,the CFO is also responsible for analysis of data. Some CFOs have the title CFOO for chief financial and operating officer. Red Mountain is a long ridge running southwest-northeast and dividing Jones Valley from Shades Valley south of Birmingham,Alabama. It is part of the Ridge-and-Valley region of the Appalachian mountains. The Red Mountain Formation of hard Silurian rock strata lies exposed in several long crests,and was named "Red Mountain" because of the rust-stained rock faces and prominent seams of red hematite iron ore. The mountain was the site of the Sloss,Republic Steel,Woodward Iron and Tennessee Coal and iron mines which supplied ore to Birmingham's iron furnaces. The best displays of the mountain's geological strata occur at the Twentieth Street cut near the Vulcan statue and at the U.S. Route 31 highway cut leading into the suburb of Homewood. Most of Birmingham's television and radio stations have their transmission towers located on Red Mountain.

He was also the Republican Party's nominee for Alabama Secretary of State in 2002 but lost to Nancy Worley. He was a candidate for the Republican primary in the 2022 Alabama gubernatorial election.
The 2022 Alabama House of Representatives elections were held on November 8,2022. The Republican and Democratic primaries were held on May 24,2022,and any races in which no candidate exceeded one-half plus one of the total votes advanced to a runoff on June 21,2022. This is the first election cycle since 2002 in which the Libertarian Party of Alabama was on the ballot,as they exceeded the threshold for petition signatures needed to gain ballot access in Alabama. Libertarian candidates were nominated by party convention. All 105 of Alabama's state representatives were up for reelection. In Alabama,members of both the House of Representatives and the Senate serve four-year terms,running in years corresponding with presidential midterm elections.
