Adline Cecilia Clarke is an American politician. She has served as a Democratic member of the Alabama House of Representatives for the 97th district since 2013. [1] [2]
She is a former president and director of the Mobile, Alabama chapter of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women. [2]
Clarke County is a county located in the southwestern part of the U.S. state of Alabama. As of the 2020 census, the population was 23,087. The county seat is Grove Hill. The county's largest city is Jackson. The county was created by the legislature of the Mississippi Territory in 1812. It is named in honor of General John Clarke of Georgia, who was later elected governor of that state.

Carolyn Jean Cheeks Kilpatrick is a former American politician who was U.S. Representative for Michigan's 15th congressional district and then Michigan's 13th congressional district from 1997 to 2011. She is a member of the Democratic Party. In August 2010 she lost the Democratic primary election to Hansen Clarke, who replaced her in January 2011 after winning the 2010 general election. Kilpatrick is also the mother of former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick.

The Republican and Democratic primaries were held on May 24, 2022, and any races in which no candidate exceeded one-half plus one of the total votes advanced to a runoff on June 21, 2022. This was the first election cycle since 2002 in which the Libertarian Party of Alabama was on the ballot, as they exceeded the threshold for petition signatures needed to gain ballot access in Alabama.
