Datta is a 2023 Indian Bengali language film based on the novel with the same name written by Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay. directed by Nirmal Chakraborty. It stars Rituparna Sengupta, Saheb Chatterjee, Joy Sengupta, Biswajit Chakraborty, and Devlina Kumar. The music was composed by Joy Sarkar. It was theatrically released on 16 June 2023. [1]

Production

Nirmal Chakraborty announced her directorial debut film titled "Datta" based on the novel with the same name written by Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay. Rituparna Sengupta and Joy Sengupta playing the lead role. [3] On 12 February 2020, principal photography took place in Kolkata [4] and filming was completed on 24 May 2023, with official confirmation from film actress Rituparna Sengupta. [5]

The soundtrack of the album was released on 12 June 2023. Datta consists of four songs composed by Joy Sarkar, [6] lyricist three song Rabindra Sangeets and one song of Rajanikanta Sen. first song titled "Jadi Tare Nai Chini Go" released on 12 June 2023. [7]

Reception

Devarti Ghosh from Ei Samay Sangbadpatra wrote "Those who like to watch literary films, they can come and see 'Datta' in colorful frames to find entertainment, it will not hurt". [8] Suparna Majumder from Sangbad Pratidin says "The use of Rabindra songs is more dramatic than the previous films and also beautiful as a prelude. Director Nirmal Chakraborty stumbles a bit in his first steps. Hopefully, he'll be a little more aware next time". [9]

The magazine was started on 25 January 1975 and the awards ceremony was started in 1998.

Lathi (transl. Stick) is a 1996 Indian Bengali-language drama film written and directed by Prabhat Roy. Produced by Shanti Film Corporation, it stars Victor Banerjee as the protagonist, with an ensemble cast consisting of Soumitra Chatterjee, Prosenjit Chatterjee, Debashree Roy, Satabdi Roy, Haradhan Bandopadhyay, Abhishek Chatterjee, Pallavi Chatterjee, Rituparna Sengupta, Deepankar De, Tota Roy Chowdhury, Sabyasachi Chakrabarty and Kaushik Sen. <i>Netaji</i> (TV series) Bengali television soap opera about the life of Subhash Chandra Bose

Netaji is a Bengali biographical soap opera on the life of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose that premiered on 14 January 2019 and aired on Bengali GEC Zee Bangla. Based majorly on Udyata Kharga Subhash by Achintya Kumar Sengupta and produced by Surinder Films, the series stars Abhishek Bose in the eponymous role, with Basabdatta Chatterjee, marking her comeback on television, Dhruvajyoti Sarkar, Kaushik Chakraborty, Sriparna Roy, Debopriyo Sarkar, Sohan Bandopadhyay, Fahim Mirza appearing in other recurring roles. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the shooting of the series was stalled. It was rumoured that along with Karunamoyee Rani Rashmoni, this series will be axed the channel. Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay, alternatively spelt as Sarat Chandra Chatterjee, was a Bengali novelist and short story writer of the early 20th century. Most of his works deal with the lifestyle, tragedy and struggle of the village people and the contemporary social practices that prevailed in Bengal. Ajogyo is a 2024 Indian Bengali-language romantic thriller film written and directed by Kaushik Ganguly. Produced by Surinder Singh and Nispal Singh under the banner of Surinder Films, the film stars Prosenjit Chatterjee and Rituparna Sengupta in their 50th collaboration, alongside Silajit Majumder, Lily Chakravarty, Ambarish Bhattacharya and Sudip Mukherjee in another pivotal roles. The plot centers around a stay-at-home man, Raktim Majumdar, who is looking for work after his life falls apart. His wife, Parna, gets a job at an investment firm to support the family. Things get complicated when Raktim's confidante Prosen enters their lives.
