Deborah Liu is an American technology executive and the CEO of Ancestry.com since 2021. [1] Liu serves on the board of Intuit [2] and Women in Product. [3] [4]

Education and life

Liu is of Chinese descent. [5] Her parents emigrated to the U.S. in the 60s and she was raised in a small town in South Carolina. [6] She is a graduate of Duke University (B.S.E in Civil Engineering) and Stanford Business School. [7]

Career

Liu was director of product for the end-to-end buyer experience at eBay and spearheaded the integration between eBay and PayPal. [2] [8] She was director of product marketing management and product management at PayPal. [9]

In 2009, she joined Facebook, [10] where she worked on Facebook Credits and Facebook Platform [11] and helped build their mobile app install ad business. [12] In 2016, as VP of product development, she founded Facebook Marketplace [5] [13] and became VP of marketplace in 2017. [14]

After being at Facebook for 11 years, Liu joined Ancestry.com as its CEO, effective March 1, 2021. [15]

She was included on Business Insider's list of "The Most Powerful Female Engineers" [16] and PaymentsSource's list of "The Most Influential Women in Payments", [17] and is a member of the Committee of 100. [18]

In August 2022, she published her first book "Take Back Your Power: 10 New Rules for Women at Work". [5]

Liu is a seed investor and advisor to startups. [19]

Sheryl Kara Sandberg is an American technology executive, philanthropist, and writer. Sandberg served as chief operating officer (COO) of Meta Platforms, a position from which she stepped down in August 2022. She is also the founder of LeanIn.Org. In 2008, she was made COO at Facebook, becoming the company's second-highest-ranking official. In June 2012, she was elected to Facebook's board of directors, becoming the first woman to serve on its board. As head of the company's advertising business, Sandberg was credited for making the company profitable. Prior to joining Facebook as its COO, Sandberg was vice president of global online sales and operations at Google and was involved in its philanthropic arm Google.org. QuickBooks is an accounting software package developed and marketed by Intuit.
