Demonocracy is the third studio album by American death metal band Job for a Cowboy. It was released on April 10, 2012. [7] It is the band's first studio album to feature guitarist Tony Sannicandro and bassist Nick Schendzielos, the second with former Despised Icon guitarist Al Glassman, [8] and the last album to feature drummer Jon Rice.

Demonocracy had first week sales of 4,900 to chart at No. 87 on the Billboard 200. [9]

Promotion

On February 21, 2012, Job for a Cowboy released the first song from the album, "Nourishment Through Bloodshed." It was released via Metal Blade Records' YouTube channel. [10]

On March 20, Job for a Cowboy premiered the song "Black Discharge" [11] and, on April 2, the song "Imperium Wolves." [12]

A music video was made for the song Tarnished Gluttony. The video features a man carrying a small child to a forest, before cutting the child open with a box cutter, replacing the organs with a cephalopod, and then gently placing the child into the sea. [13]

Influences

In a 2012 interview with Loudwire, vocalist Jonny Davy listed both Cattle Decapitation and Misery Index as influences upon the sound of the album. [14]

Doom is an EP and the debut release by Arizonan death metal group Job for a Cowboy. It was released in 2005 through the independent Arizona label King of the Monsters, and later reissued in 2006 by Metal Blade Records. The EP is noted for being Job for a Cowboy's only deathcore release, as the band would later abandon the genre in favor of a modern death metal sound. Doom is also the only release to feature guitarist Andrew Arcurio.

Hellyeah, stylized as HELLYEAH, is an American heavy metal supergroup formed in Dallas, Texas, in 2006. The band's last lineup consisted of lead vocalist Chad Gray, guitarists Christian Brady and Tom Maxwell, bassist Kyle Sanders, and drummer Roy Mayorga. The idea to form a supergroup originated in 2000 on the Tattoo the Earth tour, although plans were constantly put on hold due to scheduling conflicts. It also sees Job for a Cowboy's change into a more straightforward death metal based sound with their previous release, Doom being within the deathcore genre.

Live Ruination is the second EP by Job for a Cowboy. It was released on November 23, 2010, by Metal Blade Records as a digital EP on iTunes. It contains the band's live performance from a live music video shoot on June 6, 2009, at the First Unitarian Church in Philadelphia. Despite the album's title, only two songs from Ruination are on it, not including "The Matter of Splatter," which is a cover of Exhumed and a bonus track on certain versions of Ruination.

<i>Gloom</i> (EP) 2011 EP by Job for a Cowboy

Gloom is the third EP by American death metal band Job for a Cowboy. It became available digitally and physically via mail order only on before Doom. The EP was limited to only 2,500 physical copies, which vocalist Jonny Davy explained, "I feel like we're the type of band where so many people simply illegally download our records in the first place. So why not have the die hards have something to get excited about to get their hands on?" This is the first studio recording to feature bassist Nick Schendzielos and guitarist Tony Sannicandro after former members Bobby Thompson and Brent Riggs departed from the band in 2010, therefore all of Thompson's performance on the EP was replaced by Sannicandro's.
