Syed Thajudeen Shaik Abu Talib is a Malaysian painter. He is known for his large scale mural paintings of epic proportions set in period landscapes. The Singapore Art Show was a biennial festival for visual art in Singapore, first organised by the National Arts Council in 2005 as a platform for local Artist|artists and other local residents. The Singapore Art Show was planned to be held on alternating years with the Singapore Biennale. The Art Show had a national focus on Singaporean and Singapore-based artists, while the Singapore Biennale, launched in 2006, would have a broader scope of Southeast Asian contemporary art in the international sphere. The Metropolitan Museum of Manila, also branded as the M, is an art museum located in Bonifacio Global City in Taguig, that exhibits local and international contemporary art. It was formerly located within the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Complex along Roxas Boulevard in the Malate district of Manila, the Philippines. It bills itself as the country's premier museum for modern and contemporary visual arts by local and international artists. Established in 1976, the Met initially exhibited international artists to expose Filipinos to contemporary visual works in other cultures. By 1986, its focus shifted to local works and extend its reach to more common people by offering bilingual exhibition texts and developing several outreach educational programs like workshops and symposia, thereby promoting local pride and identity. The museum offers free admission on Tuesdays. Partly subsidized by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, the administration of the museum was entrusted to the Metropolitan Museum of Manila Foundation in 1979. The museum's three floors of galleries house a collection of art and historical artifacts loaned by the BSP such as pre-Hispanic goldwork and pottery, religious artwork as well as some artworks by Félix Resurrección Hidalgo. The rest of the museum is dedicated to Philippine contemporary works by various Filipino artists.

Michael Arcega is a San Francisco-based interdisciplinary artist who works mainly in sculpture and installation. Critics have described his work as a fusion of accessible materials, meticulous craftsmanship, politically barbed punning and conceptual rigor that balances light-hearted play with serious critique. His practice is informed by history, research, geography and his personal, insider-outsider sensibility as a naturalized Filipino-American; he frequently links historical eras and disparate geographies in order to address the present via the past. While visual, his art is often inspired by bilingual wordplay, jokes and jumbled signifiers. It explores cross-cultural exchange, colonization, sociopolitical dynamics and imbalances, and cultural markers embedded in objects, food, architecture, visual lexicons, and vernacular languages. Sculpture critic Laura Richard Janku wrote that Arcega "melds myriad aspects of past and present, high and low, humor and horror into the messy melting pot of history, politics and culture."
