Devin Augustine (born 2 December 2003) is a sprinter from Trinidad and Tobago. In 2023, he became national champion over 100 metres. [1]

Early life

Augustine attended the University of Minnesota. In April 2024, he set a new school record over 100 metres. [2] [3]

Career

As a 15 year-old, he won the Carifta Games Boys Under-17 100 metres final at the Truman Bodden Complex in George Town, Cayman Islands in 2019. [4]

He was part of the victorious men's 4x100m relay team for Trinidad and Tobago at the 2023 CAC Games in July 2023. [5] That month, he also claimed his first national title, over 100 metres, at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, Port of Spain. [6]

Augustine ran a personal best 6.67 seconds for the 60 metres to win gold at the Gopher Classic indoor meet in Minnesota in February 2024. [7]

In March 2024, Augustine improved his 100 metres personal best with a 10.16 seconds run at the Hurricane Invitational in Florida. [8] In April 2024, he won the sprint double at the LSU Alumni Gold meet in Baton Rouge. He won the 100 metres in a time of 10.02 seconds, and the 200 metres in 20.98 seconds. [9]

Fana Ashby is a retired athlete from Trinidad and Tobago who specialised in the 100m sprint. She won the bronze medal in the 100 metres at the 2000 World Junior Championships. Ashby later won the 100m title at the 2003 CAC Games. She also copped 100m bronze medals at the 2005 CAC Games and the 2007 NACAC Championships.

Dylan Carter is a competitive swimmer. Born in the United States, he represents Trinidad and Tobago internationally. He is the Trinidad and Tobago record holder in the long course and short course 100 metre freestyle, 50 metre backstroke, 100 metre backstroke, 50 metre butterfly, and 100 metre butterfly. At the 2021 World Short Course Championships, he became the first swimmer representing Trinidad and Tobago to win a silver medal a World Short Course Championships, winning the silver medal in the 50 metre butterfly. In 2018 and 2022, he won the bronze medal in the 50 metre butterfly and the 50 metre freestyle at the World Short Course Championships, respectively. He was the male overall winner for the 2022 FINA Swimming World Cup, winning nine gold medals, five in Trinidad and Tobago record times, to become the first Trinidad and Tobago overall winner. Thomas Ceccon is an Italian swimmer. He is a world record holder in the long course 100 metre backstroke and the short course 4×100 metre freestyle relay. He is the 2022 World champion in the 100 metre backstroke and 2022 European champion in the 100 metre backstroke and 50 metre butterfly.
