Manuel Julián Javier Liranzo,is a Dominican former professional baseball second baseman. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the St. Louis Cardinals and Cincinnati Reds. He was nicknamed "Hoolie" by his teammates,and "the Phantom" by teammate Tim McCarver for his ability to avoid baserunners sliding into second base. He is the father of former big-leaguer Stan Javier.

James William "Junior" Gilliam was an American second baseman,third baseman,and coach in Negro league and Major League Baseball who spent his entire major league career with the Brooklyn / Los Angeles Dodgers. He was named the 1953 National League Rookie of the Year,and was a key member of ten National League championship teams from 1953 to 1978. As the Dodgers' leadoff hitter for most of the 1950s,he scored over 100 runs in each of his first four seasons and led the National League in triples in 1953 and walks in 1959. Upon retirement,he became one of the first African-American coaches in the major leagues.

Primarily an outfielder,he played at least one game at every position except pitcher during a 13-year career in Major League Baseball for the Detroit Tigers,Los Angeles Angels (1961–63),Boston Red Sox (1966–71) and Minnesota Twins (1971). He also was an assistant coach (1972–78) and head baseball coach (1979–81) at his alma mater,the University of Minnesota,after his active career ended. The native of Minneapolis threw and batted right-handed,stood 6 feet 3 inches (1.91 m) tall and weighed 190 pounds (86 kg).
Richard John McAuliffe was an American professional baseball shortstop / second baseman,who played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Detroit Tigers (1960–73) and Boston Red Sox (1974–75). He was a part of the Tigers' 1968 World Series championship,and was known for his unusual batting stance. A left-handed hitter,McAuliffe held his hands very high with an open stance that faced the pitcher. As the pitcher delivered to home plate,he moved his forward (right) foot to a more conventional position before swinging.

Ronald Peter Perranoski was an American professional baseball player and coach. He played in Major League Baseball as a left-handed relief pitcher from 1961 to 1973,most prominently as a member of the Los Angeles Dodgers for whom he appeared in three World Series and,with the Minnesota Twins teams that won two consecutive American League Western Division titles. He also played for the Detroit Tigers and the California Angels. After his playing career,Perranoski worked as a Major League pitching coach,winning two more World Series with the Dodgers in the 1980s.
