Didier Janvier Ovono Ebang (born 23 January 1983) is a Gabonese professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Championnat National 2 club Saumur.
In 2008, Ovono won the Georgian League with FC Dinamo Tbilisi. On 22 June 2009, he moved from Dinamo Tbilisi to Le Mans Union Club 72 in Ligue 1 where he was given a three-year contract until June 2012. [1]
In February 2021 Ovono joined Championnat National 2 club FCSR Haguenau. [2]
Ovono played at the 2010 African Cup of Nations for the Gabon national team, including a good performance and a clean sheet in Gabon's surprise opening victory over Cameroon. [3]
In 2012, he played in all four national team matches at the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations, two of which were clean sheets. As a result, Gabon reached the quarterfinals. [4] [5]
He retired from the national team in May 2017. [6] Later on, he came out of retirement to be the first Gabonese player to have 100 or more international appearances. [7]

The 2017 Africa Cup of Nations final was an association football match to determine the winner of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations, organised by the Confederation of African Football (CAF). The match was held at the Stade de l'Amitié in Libreville, Gabon, on 5 February 2017 and was contested by Cameroon and Egypt. The sixteen teams who had qualified for the tournament were divided into four groups of four, with the top two from each group progressing to the knock-out phase. Cameroon finished as runners-up in Group A before defeating Senegal and Ghana in the quarter-final and semi-final, while Egypt reached for the final by first winning Group D and then beating Morocco and Burkina Faso.
