Dig Deep is the fifth studio album by American progressive metal band After the Burial. The album was released on February 19, 2016, through Sumerian Records and is the band's first release since the death of guitarist Justin Lowe. [3] It is also the final album by the band to feature founding bassist Lee Foral, who announced his departure from the band later that year in June. [4]

Release

The release of Dig Deep was announced on January 4, 2016, when the cover art and track listing was unveiled. [3] The first single "Lost in the Static" was released on October 29, 2015. [1] "Collapse" was the second song released off Dig Deep, it premiered on February 4, 2016. [2] Two days before the official album release a full album stream was made available via Metal Injection. [5] On February 18, 2022, to commemorate the album's six-year anniversary, the band released an instrumental version of the album. [6] [7]

Its follow-up Old Souls debuted at No. 30 upon release in May 2015 and displayed the band beginning to transition from death/black metal to a more progressive metalcore sound. After the band signed with Rise Records, the label released an expanded version of Old Souls in August 2016, containing also an EP from their death metal era Lord of Woe and a new track, "Ether". Despite the name, the band is not named after the Cannibal Corpse song of the same name.

"Dig" is a song by American heavy metal band Mudvayne, released in 2000 as the band's debut single. It appears on the band's debut studio album L.D. 50 (2000). A music video was released for the song on April 10, 2001, and it later won the first ever MTV2 Award. It is also one of the band's most well-known songs, being certified gold in the United States. A live version of the song taken from the Tattoo the Earth tour appears on the live album Tattoo the Earth: The First Crusade. The song also appeared on the compilation album WWF Tough Enough. The song has also spawned an Internet meme known as "Brbr Deng", which bassist Ryan Martinie has expressed some ambivalence about.

Bad Omens is an American metalcore band from Richmond, Virginia, formed in 2015 by vocalist and producer Noah Sebastian, guitarist Nicholas Ruffilo, and bassist Vincent Riquier. The band was later joined by guitarist and producer Joakim "Jolly" Karlsson and drummer Nick Folio, releasing their critically acclaimed debut self-titled album in 2016 under Sumerian Records. Their second full-length album, Finding God Before God Finds Me, was released in 2019, with a deluxe edition released in 2020. Erra is the fifth studio album by American progressive metalcore band Erra. It was released on March 19, 2021 through UNFD. The album was produced by Carson Slovak and Grant McFarland. It is the band's first studio release with the label and the last album to feature guitarist Sean Price before he left the band in March 2022.
