It is his second biggest hit,peaking at number 12 on the Billboard Hot 100. It was later included on the 2006 album N.O.R.E. y la Familia...Ya TúSabe. The song features Nina Sky and reggaeton artists Gem Star,Daddy Yankee and Big Mato. The song originally featured Tego Calderón in place of Daddy Yankee but was later changed for the video. However,the Tego version was released by famous reggaeton label Planet Records Italy,instead of Island Def Jam,N.O.R.E.'s original label. It's N.O.R.E.'s first venture into the increasingly popular Latin genre reggaeton.

The song's beat contains a sample from "Pastures" by jazz musician Ahmad Jamal. The track was originally meant to be a Camp Lo song,but producer Ski gave it to Jay at the last minute. He describes the situation in an XXL Magazine article:
It was me and Geechi Suede from Camp Lo,it was my hook and everything. Jay heard it and was like,"I want that record. I don't care what you do,I want that record." I didn't want to give it to him,but I had to because I knew he was going to be the man at the time. So I said,"Fuck it,take the record." It really was me and Suede from Camp Lo,the flow and everything,the way he was flowing on it. That's the way we was flowing on it. So he just took the whole thing. It features vocals from Blackstreet and production from Blackstreet member Teddy Riley. Riley samples "You Gonna Make Me Love Somebody Else" by The Jones Girls for the song's beat,while Blackstreet interpolates "You Belong to the City" by Glenn Frey and Jack Tempchin for the song's chorus. The song interpolates "Just You Just Me" by The Counts and "What's My Name?" by Snoop Dogg,using the line "what's my motherfuckin' name?". The beat was later remade for "Scenario 2000" by Eve featuring Ruff Ryders.
