Doctor is a soundtrack album composed by Anirudh Ravichander for the 2021 film of the same name. The film marks Anirudh's sixth collaboration with Sivakarthikeyan and second collaboration with Nelson Dilipkumar. All the tracks in the film were released as singles, with "Chellamma" being the first song to be released, received viral response crossing more than 100 million views on YouTube. [1] The original soundtrack album which featured four tracks in total was unveiled by Sony Music India on 2 October 2021. [2]
The film marked Anirudh's seventh collaboration with Sivakarthikeyan after 3 , Ethir Neechal , Maan Karate , Kaaki Sattai , Remo and Velaikkaran and second collaboration with Nelson Dilipkumar after Kolamavu Kokila . In February 2020, the film's soundtrack rights were purchased by Sony Music India. [3]
Work on the film's soundtrack began during June 2020, when government allowed to resume post-production works which were affected due to the nationwide lockdown due to COVID-19. [4] The first song "Chellamma" was recorded during this intermediate period and was released as the first single. [5] The promotion for the single was done in an interesting way, where an announcement video about the song released on 22 July 2020, featuring Anirudh, Sivakarthikeyan and Nelson. [6] The song was penned by Sivakarthikeyan which had lines about TikTok ban, [7] himself and was sung by Anirudh and Jonita Gandhi. [8] It was released on 24 July 2020, [9] through music streaming platforms and YouTube. [10]
Following the response to the track, [11] the makers unveiled the second single titled "Nenjame", a montage track, on 28 August 2020. [12] [13] A promotional video directed by Nelson and filmed by Vijay Kartik Kannan, the film's cinematographer, the video was shot at the Edward Elliot's Beach in Chennai adhering to the COVID-19 safety guidelines. [14] Sivakarthikeyan and Priyanka Arul Mohan appeared in the music video which was shot in monochrome. [14] It features vocals by the composer Anirudh Ravichander, whilst lyrics by Mohan Rajan.
The team came up with another announcement video on 22 February 2021, after the composer tweeted about the single, the previous day. [15] Anirudh Ravichander later described it as being a mix of classical and western fusion in the video, [16] which later becoming titled as "So Baby". The song was released on 26 February 2021. [17] In March 2021, Anirudh Ravichander tweeted that he is working for the fourth song sung by Arivu, which will mark their second collaboration after "Vaathi Raid" from Master (2021). [18] This song is scheduled to be released as the fourth single from the film, however did not make it to the final track list. [2]
"Soul of Doctor", a theme track featured in the trailer received unanimous praise from the listeners, and owing to the response, the makers released the track as a separate single from the album on 27 September 2021. [19] The song featured a classical music-background score with Jathi in the beginning of the track, similar to the verses featured in "So Baby". [19] While the original song was voiced by violinist, Ananthakrrishnan, who worked in the composer's Albuquerque Records music studio, "Soul of Doctor" was sung by Niranjana Ramanan. [20] [21]
The album received positive response from critics & viewers praising two singles from the album “So Baby” & “Chellamma”. The first single "Chellamma" received positive response from critics and audiences, [22] and went viral upon its release, crossing 50 million views as of October 2020. [23] "Chellamma" was listed on the Top 5 Chartbuster Songs of 2020 from The Times of India [24] and 7 Songs Needed in Your Playlist: A Yearender Special by Anjana Shekhar of The News Minute . [25] Shekhar further stated that the song is considered as a "perfect dance number that you can groove for parties". [25] In March 2021, the song has crossed more than 100 million views in YouTube. [26]
"So Baby", the third song from the album, was hailed by listeners and music critics praised Anirudh for handling the mix of western and classical style sound. [17] Thinkal Menon of The Times of India said that "the rare fusion of classical and western makes the song more enjoyable". [17] Karthik Srinivasan of Milliblog, in his weekly review stated the song as "vibrant" and praised the instrumentation of the track which works in favour of it. [27] In addition, the song also became a viral hit on YouTube. [28] [29] However, netizens criticised Anirudh saying that he had plagiarized the tunes from Taio Cruz's "Break Your Heart". [30]
The music and score received positive reviews from critics, with Haricharan Pudipeddi of Hindustan Times said that "it holds the film together". [31] A reviewer from Sify stated: "Music by Anirudh is another biggest strength of the film although there are only three songs. The music composer elevates the film with his efficient background score." [32] A reviewer from Moviecrow stated that "Anirudh's music has been complimenting the film even before it made it to the screens and it does handhold the film to success". [33]

Anirudh Ravichander, also credited mononymously as Anirudh, is an Indian composer and playback singer who works primarily in Tamil cinema, in addition to Hindi and Telugu films. He has won two Filmfare Awards South, ten SIIMA Awards, six Edison Awards and five Vijay awards.
Ethir Neechal is a 2013 Indian Tamil-language sports comedy drama film written and directed by R. S. Durai Senthilkumar in his directorial debut. The film stars Sivakarthikeyan, Priya Anand and Nandita Swetha. Produced by Dhanush under his studio Wunderbar Films, it was distributed by Vendhar Movies. Principal photography commenced on 23 July 2012, and ended on 22 February 2013. The music for the film is composed by Anirudh Ravichander, with cinematography performed by R. Velraj and editing by Kishore Te. The film was released on 1 May 2013 and became a commercial success.
Velaikkaran (transl. Worker) is a 2017 Indian Tamil-language action thriller film written and directed by Mohan Raja. Produced by R. D. Raja under his banner 24AM Studios. The film stars Sivakarthikeyan, Fahadh Faasil, Nayanthara, Sneha and Prakash Raj in lead roles. Mahesh Manjrekar, Sathish, Thambi Ramaiah, RJ Balaji, Vijay Vasanth, Robo Shankar and Rohini play supporting roles. The film's music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander, with cinematography by Ramji. The film is based on a sales executive named Arivazhagan (Sivakarthikeyan) who fights against food adulteration committed by high-class companies.
Kolamaavu Kokila abbreviated as COCO, is a 2018 Indian Tamil-language black comedy crime film written and directed by Nelson Dilipkumar in his directorial debut, and produced by Subaskaran Allirajah of Lyca Productions. The film stars Nayanthara, alongside a supporting cast including Yogi Babu, Saranya Ponvannan, VJ Jacqueline, R. S. Shivaji, Charles Vinoth and Hareesh Peradi. It revolves around a woman who takes to drug smuggling to pay for her mother's cancer treatment, but soon her entire family is dragged into the conflict.
Thumbaa is a 2019 Indian Tamil-language adventure film written and directed by Harish Ram L. H. on his directorial debut. The film stars Darshan, newcomer Keerthi Pandian and Dheena. Produced by Surekha Nyapati, the film was distributed by KJR Studios. The film is set against the backdrop of Western Ghats, and mostly consists of VFX and computer graphics. Principal photography began on 27 December 2018, and was completed on 11 April 2019.
Remo is the soundtrack album composed by Anirudh Ravichander, for the 2016 Indian Tamil-language romantic comedy film of the same name, starring Sivakarthikeyan.
Master is the soundtrack album composed by Anirudh Ravichander, for the 2021 Indian Tamil-language film of the same name, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, and produced by Xavier Britto under his production house XB Film Creators, starring Vijay and Vijay Sethupathi. This film marks Anirudh's first collaboration with Lokesh Kanagaraj and his second collaboration with Vijay after Kaththi and third collaboration with Vijay Sethupathi after Naanum Rowdy Dhaan and Petta. The soundtrack album features eight songs written by Arunraja Kamaraj, Gana Balachandar, Arivu, Vignesh Shivan, Vishnu Edavan and Bjorn Surrao, with three of them were released as singles. The tracks were released digitally through Sony Music India on 15 March 2020. The film also features an extended soundtrack album with two songs "Vaathi Kabaddi" and "Master The Blaster" being released on 13 and 14 January 2021. Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal is a 2022 Indian Tamil-language romantic comedy film written and directed by Vignesh Shivan, and produced by S. S. Lalit Kumar under Seven Screen Studio. Jersey is the soundtrack album composed by Anirudh Ravichander for the 2019 Telugu film of the same name written and directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri starring Nani and Shraddha Srinath. It marks his second Telugu project after Agnyaathavaasi (2018). The soundtrack album features five songs, including two bonus tracks which were released separately and had lyrics written by Krishna Kanth. After all individual tracks from the album were released as singles, the soundtrack in its entirety, was released through Zee Music Company on 17 April 2019.
RRR is the soundtrack album, composed by M. M. Keeravani, to the 2022 Indian Telugu-language epic action drama film of the same name, directed by S. S. Rajamouli, starring N. T. Rama Rao Jr., Ram Charan, Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, and Olivia Morris while Samuthirakani, Shriya Saran, Ray Stevenson, and Alison Doody play supporting roles. The film featured seven tracks with lyrics written by Sirivennela Seetharama Sastry, Chandrabose, Suddala Ashok Teja, Ramajogayya Sastry, K. Shiva Dutta and Keeravani himself. Durai Senthilkumar and produced by Dhanush, their second collaboration after Ethir Neechal (2013). The film features Sivakarthikeyan and Sri Divya in the lead roles. The film's music was composed by Anirudh Ravichander, featured seven songs written by Na. Muthukumar, Yugabharathi, Anthony Daasan, Arunraja Kamaraj and Brodha V. The album was launched on 12 December 2014, coinciding with Rajinikanth's birthday, to positive reviews.
Etharkkum Thunindhavan is the soundtrack album composed by D. Imman for the Tamil-language action thriller film of the same name directed by Pandiraj and produced by Sun Pictures, starring Suriya and Priyanka Arul Mohan. The soundtrack has ten tunes; four songs featuring lyrics written by Yugabharathi, Sivakarthikeyan and Vignesh Shivan and the remainder of the album featured instrumental tracks used in the background score. It was released on 31 January 2022.
"Arabic Kuthu" is a 2022 Indian song and the first single in the soundtrack of the Tamil-language film Beast, directed by Nelson. Starring Vijay and Pooja Hegde, the film is produced by Kalanithi Maran under the studio Sun Pictures. The track is composed by Anirudh, who also sang the track alongside Jonita Gandhi, while the lyrics for the track were written by actor Sivakarthikeyan. The first single to be released from the album, being highly expected from fans, was delayed multiple times.

The film, under the tentative title Thalapathy 65, initially had S. Thaman reported to score for the film. In a turn of events, the makers roped in Anirudh for the production of songs and film score. This film eventually marked Anirudh's third collaboration with Vijay after Kaththi (2014) and Master (2021), and with Nelson after Kolamaavu Kokila (2018) and Doctor (2021).
Jailer is the soundtrack album to the 2023 film of the same name directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, starring Rajinikanth. The film's original score is composed by Anirudh Ravichander, whose soundtrack consists of eight tracks: four songs written by Arunraja Kamaraj, Vignesh Shivan and Super Subu and four instrumental tracks. The film's musical score is composed by Anirudh Ravichander whose soundtrack consisted of six songs written by Vivek, Vignesh Shivan, Arunraja Kamaraj and Sivakarthikeyan. After the release of three singles—"Edhuvaraiyo", "Kalyana Vayasu", "Orey Oru"—the soundtrack in its entirety released through Zee Music Company on 1 July 2018.
Naanum Rowdy Dhaan is the soundtrack to the 2015 film of the same name directed by Vignesh Shivan and produced by Dhanush's Wunderbar Films, starring Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara. The soundtrack featured six songs composed by Anirudh Ravichander and were primarily written by Vignesh himself, with the exception of one song by Thamarai, with Anirudh, Neeti Mohan, Benny Dayal, Sid Sriram, and Sean Roldan recording the vocals for the album. All the songs in the film were released as a singles and were well received by critics and listeners.
