An international school is an institution that promotes education in an international environment or framework. Although there is no uniform definition or criteria, international schools are usually characterized by a multinational student body and staff, multilingual instruction, curricula oriented towards global perspectives and subjects, and the promotion of concepts such as world citizenship, pluralism, and intercultural understanding. Many international schools adopt a curriculum from programs and organizations such as International Baccalaureate, Edexcel, Cambridge Assessment International Education, International Primary Curriculum, or Advanced Placement.
ACS International Schools is a group of four independent schools catering for local and international families - three in England and one in Qatar. Until 2005, the organisation was known as American Community Schools. The four campuses are in Cobham and Egham in Surrey, the London Borough of Hillingdon, and the city of Doha in Qatar, the latter of which opened in September 2011. Full boarding fees including tuition are from £45,060 per year for children aged 12–14 years.

Both are regulated by the Cabinet of Zimbabwe. The education system in Zimbabwe encompasses 13 years of primary and secondary school and runs from January to December. Pakistan International School are schools based outside Pakistan which promote the national curriculum. These schools fall under the jurisdiction of the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education and cater mainly to students who are not nationals of the host country such as the children of the staff of international businesses, international organizations, embassies, missions, or missionary programs. For overseas Pakistani families, these schools allow continuity in education from Pakistan as most prefer to stay in the same curriculum, especially for older children. Pakistan international schools typically use curricula based on the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education and offer both Urdu language and English language classes. Some schools also offer International General Certificate of Secondary Education. The first Pakistan international school was opened in Isa Town, Bahrain in 1956 as the Pakistan Urdu School.

The British School Yangon (BSY) is a private international school based on the British curriculum, located in the city of Yangon, Myanmar. The school currently provides schooling to students aged 3–16 and accepted its first Sixth Form cohort in August 2020.
