Morris Watts is a former American football player and coach. Until his retirement in 2016, he was the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Central Michigan University. He previously served as the offensive coordinator at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, having joined the RedHawks coaching staff in 2009 as the quarterbacks coach. Morris served as the interim head coach at Michigan State University for the last three games of the 2002 season after Bobby Williams was fired, compiling a record of 1–2.
Mark Justin Dantonio is an American football coach and player. In 2015, Dantonio became the first head coach in Big Ten history to achieve at least 11 wins in five of six seasons. On December 6, 2015, Dantonio's Spartans qualified for the College Football Playoff for the first time in the program's history.
Patrick Regan Narduzzi is an American football coach and former player. He is the head coach at the University of Pittsburgh. He was formerly the defensive coordinator at Michigan State. He attended Youngstown State University and the University of Rhode Island. He earned his master's degree from Miami University.

Mike Tressel is an American football coach who is currently the defensive coordinator and inside linebackers coach for the Wisconsin Badgers. Tressel, the nephew of former Ohio State head coach Jim Tressel, joined the University of Cincinnati's football coaching staff under Mark Dantonio in 2004. Tressel followed Dantonio to Michigan State when he was hired there in December 2006. He was named the acting head coach when Dantonio announced his retirement in February 2020. Tressel was one of two Dantonio assistants retained by Dantonio's successor, Mel Tucker.
Charles "Doc" Gamble is an American football coach. He is currently the special teams coordinator at Florida A&M University and was previously the head football coach at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, a position he held from 2020 through October 2022.

They were led through the first seven games of the season by head coach Doc Gamble, who was in his third season with the program, until he was fired on October 20, with offensive coordinator Don Treadwell assuming interim head coaching duties for the remainder of the season. The Lions played their home games at Simmons Bank Field in Pine Bluff, Arkansas.
