Donald Raleigh (born October 9,1965) [1] is an American politician and businessman serving as a member of the Minnesota House of Representatives from the 38A district. Elected in November 2020,he assumed office on January 5,2021.
Raleigh graduated from Osceola High School in Polk County,Wisconsin in 1984. [2] He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in emergency and disaster management from American Military University. [3]
Raleigh served in the United States Army from 1984 to 1992,where he was a member of the 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment. From 1992 to 1994,he worked as a salesman for InaCOMP,a technology company based in Southfield,Michigan. He was also a salesman for Entex Industries,Syntegra,Control Data,BT Group,and Creative Internet Solutions. He later worked as a consultant at Control Data. In 2002,he founded Evolve Systems,a marketing agency. [4] Raleigh also owns MYGUN.com LLC and Monitoring Management Solutions,Inc. [5]
Raleigh was elected to the Minnesota House of Representatives in November 2020 and assumed office on January 5,2021. [6]
Raleigh and his wife,Marnie,have four children and live in Blaine,Minnesota. [7]
Collin Clark Peterson is an American accountant and politician who served as the U.S. representative for Minnesota's 7th congressional district from 1991 to 2021. A member of the Minnesota Democratic–Farmer–Labor Party,or the DFL. he was chairman of the House Committee on Agriculture from 2019 to 2021 and previously holding the office from 2007 to 2011;he had been ranking member from 2011 to 2019 and 2005 to 2007. Peterson was the most senior U.S. Representative from Minnesota and the dean of Minnesota's congressional delegation. In 2020,Peterson was defeated by Michelle Fischbach,ending his 30-year tenure in the United States House of Representatives.
Margaret Anderson Kelliher is an American politician,Director of the Minneapolis Department of Public Works,former Commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Transportation,and a former member of the Minnesota House of Representatives. A member of the Minnesota Democratic–Farmer–Labor Party,she represented District 60A,which includes portions of the city of Minneapolis in Hennepin County,located in the Twin Cities metropolitan area. First elected in 1999,she served until 2011,also serving as the Speaker from 2007 to 2011. She is the second woman to hold the position of House speaker. She was an unsuccessful candidate for the DFL nomination for Governor of Minnesota in the 2010 gubernatorial election,losing to former Senator Mark Dayton. Anderson left the Minnesota House of Representatives at the conclusion of her term in 2011 and re-entered politics when she ran for the DFL nomination to the U.S. House of Representatives in Minnesota's 5th congressional district in 2018,losing to Ilhan Omar. Since 2019 Kelliher,has worked in transportation management roles for the government,first as Commissioner of MnDOT,and later as Director of Public Works for the city of Minneapolis.

Minnesota has consistently high voter turnout;in the 2008 U.S. presidential election,77.8% of eligible Minnesotans voted –the highest percentage of any U.S. state or territory –versus the national average of 61.7%. This was due in part to its same day voter registration laws;previously unregistered voters can register on election day,at their polls,with evidence of residency.
