From contemporary reviews, John Bush of AllMusic noted that Kid606 "injects a much-needed sense of humor into the experimental/hardcore scene" which "may not be enough to warrant any more than two or three listens, but there's at least a 50–50 balance between senseless distortion and well-programmed tracks with a semblance of a groove." [2]
In The New Rolling Stone Album Guide , critic Jon Caramanica referred to Down with the Scene as being "as ironic an electronic album as there is." [6] Pitchfork placed the album at number 49 on its list of "The 50 Best IDM Albums of All Time", with Ned Raggett opining that Kid606 "helped upend IDM’s stereotype of bloodless astringency" and that the album was "a kaleidoscopic effort and a half. There's smooth swagger on “GQ on the EQ” and gentle sweetness with “For When Yr Just Happy to Be Alive” slamming up against frenetic compositions like “Punkshit” and “Two Fingers in the Air Anarchy Style.”" [8]

...I Care Because You Do is the third studio album by electronic musician Richard D. James under the alias Aphex Twin, released on 24 April 1995 by Warp. Containing material recorded between 1990 and 1994, the album marked James's return to a percussive sound following the largely beatless Selected Ambient Works Volume II (1994), and pairs abrasive rhythms with symphonic and ambient elements. The cover artwork is a self-portrait by James.

Rounds is the third solo album by British electronic musician Kieran Hebden, released under his alias Four Tet on 5 May 2003 by Domino Recording Company. Wanting to make a more personal record, Hebden recorded and produced the album in his North London flat over ten months using a desktop computer and a home hi-fi system. Its ten tracks feature elements of hip hop, jazz and folk; apart from a guitar part recorded for "Slow Jam", the music is composed from between 200 and 300 samples, many processed beyond recognition.

Don't Sweat the Technics is the debut studio album by American electronic music artist Kid606. Recorded by Kid606 between the ages 17 to 18, the album was issued on CD format through the independent San Francisco-based label Vinyl Communications in 1998. The album would later catch the attention of Mike Patton, operator of Ipecac Recordings, who subsequently signed Kid606 to Ipecac.

It was released in 2002 through Violent Turd as a compact disc and a double LP set. Kid606 composed the album by splicing together songs he had downloaded from P2P devices. Artists sampled include Missy Elliott, Jay-Z, Eminem, Yello, Ozzy Osbourne, Radiohead, The Bangles, The Buggles, The Prodigy, and Kylie Minogue.
Kill Sound Before Sound Kills You is a 2003 studio album by American electronic musician Miguel Depedro under his alias of Kid 606. The album was released by Ipecac Records on compact disc and on vinyl by Tigerbeat6. The album was recorded between 1998 and 2003 and features guest vocalist Wayne Lonesome. To promote the album, the EP The Illness was released in July 2003 as well as a music video for "The Illness" made by Joel Trussell.

It entered the Dance Albums Chart at No. 6 on 26 December 1992.
