Dreamers (stylized as DREAMERS) is an American pop rock band, featuring Nick Wold, Marc Nelson and touring members Jessica Goodwin and Ari Tibi.
Nick Wold moved from Seattle to New York at the age of 18 to study jazz saxophone at New York University's Steinhardt School. [1] [2] [3] In New York, Wold was the lead singer and guitarist in the grunge band Motive, along with drummer Chris Bagamery, bassist Andrew McGovern, and lead guitarist David Leondi. McGovern, Bagamery, and Wold were longtime friends from Seattle who grew up playing jazz together. Wold met Leondi at NYU, and the trio became a quartet. [4] [5] [6] [7] Hailed as "The Strokes 2.0", Motive shared the stage with The Vaccines, Walk The Moon, Bear Hands, and were featured on MTV2's show 120 Minutes with Matt Pinfield, The New York Times, NYLON guys, and CBS News. The band toured the US several times, and had 9 showcases at SXSW in 2013. [4] [6] [5] [8]
Following the dissolution of Motive, Wold was living and writing songs in a Brooklyn rehearsal space. He and Bagamery met bassist Marc Nelson (known only by his surname), and the three teamed up to form the band. [9] [10] [11]
Their first single, "Wolves (You Got Me)", was released on July 16, 2014, [7] and was in rotation on Sirius XM's Alt Nation. [11] It was included on their self-titled debut EP, [2] produced by Danny Kalb, which was recorded at Ravensworth Studio outside Charlottesville, Virginia, and released on November 18, 2014. [11] [12] [13] The four-track EP was streamed on Billboard a week ahead of its release date. [12] In 2014, Alternative Press named Dreamers one of their 100 Bands You Need To Know. [14]
In February 2015, Dreamers signed a deal with Fairfax Recordings. [15] Drummer Jacob Lee Wick joined the band at the end of 2015, replacing Bagamery after they relocated to Los Angeles. [16] [17] [18] That year, the trio started recording tracks with producer Kevin Agunas for their debut LP. [17] On December 3, 2015, they released the video for their second single, "Shooting Shadows", off their second EP, You Are Here. [2] The song was written by Wold and Atlas Genius lead singer Keith Jeffery.[ citation needed ] On February 5, 2016, You Are Here was released on Fairfax Recordings. It included their first single, "Wolves (You Got Me)", their new single "Drugs", and three additional tracks. [15] The video for "Drugs" premiered on Billboard on March 2, 2016. [19]
The first single off their debut LP This Album Does Not Exist was "Sweet Disaster", released on June 24, 2016. [20] The album was released on August 26, 2016. [21] Much of the album was written by Wold in Brooklyn before the band's relocation to Los Angeles. [18]
On July 13, 2018, Dreamers released Launch, a four-song EP. The EP serves as the first of a trilogy of releases. [22] The album cover displays a picture of a SpaceX Falcon 9 at liftoff with a purple hue.
On September 7, 2018, Dreamers released Fly, a five-song EP and the second in the trilogy. It features the single "All Washed Out" and a stripped-down version of the single "Screws". [23]
On February 21, 2019, "Die Happy" was released as the first single from what fans assumed was a third EP. However, on April 4, 2019, the band announced that their second album, Launch Fly Land, would be released April 26, 2019, which includes "Die Happy", and released the second single from the album, "Insomniac". [24]
In April 2020, Dreamers released a new rendition of their single "Heat Seeker" with vocals from Grandson. The solo version is featured in the video game Just Dance 2021 . [25]
On April 1, 2022, ahead of their release of single "Black Confetti", Dreamers announced that drummer Jacob Lee Wick would be leaving the band. [26]
On June 2, 2023, the band announced that they would be leaving the Dodging Sunshine tour prematurely due to a family emergency. [27]
Dreamers were selected to open for Stone Temple Pilots on their US tour in April and May 2015, at venues including The Fillmore in San Francisco, Aztec Theatre in San Antonio, House of Blues in Chicago, Irving Plaza in New York City and at SunFest in West Palm Beach. [9] [14] They were picked out of 500 bands who submitted to be the opener. [28]
From December 2015 through April 2016, Dreamers went on tour across North America. [2] [19] This included their first foray into Canada, where they co-headlined with Arkells, joining the band onstage to perform a cover of George Harrison's version of "Got My Mind Set on You". [17] The bands also covered David Bowie's "Modern Love" together, [29] and Dreamers have separately covered Blind Melon's "No Rain". [30]
Dreamers have also played with Atlas Genius, Civil Twilight, The Airborne Toxic Event, The Mowgli's, Young Rising Sons, The Vaccines, Weezer, Catfish and the Bottlemen, and All Time Low. [18] [28] [30] They played Lollapalooza 2016 in Chicago, [16] and have also put in appearances at Bumbershoot, Firefly, and Coachella along the way, and they went on a full US tour with The Griswolds in 2017 as well as with Night Riots in support of The Maine later that year. [31] In 2018, they joined New Politics, alongside The Wrecks, on their Lost In Translation tour, named after their third album. In the fall of 2018, Dreamers went on their first US headlining tour with Weathers, Morgxn, and Rad Horror. [32] February and March 2019 took them on a multi-city trip around the States for the North American leg of You Me At Six's international tour for their album VI. In 2019, they opened for Dirty Heads and 311.

The Pretenders are a British-American rock band formed in March 1978. The original band consisted of founder and main songwriter Chrissie Hynde, James Honeyman-Scott, Pete Farndon and Martin Chambers. Following the deaths of Honeyman-Scott in 1982 and Farndon in 1983, the band experienced numerous personnel changes; Hynde has been the band's only continuous member.
Metro Station was an American pop rock band that was formed in Los Angeles, California by singer Mason Musso and bassist/guitarist Trace Cyrus. In late 2006, the band signed a recording contract with Columbia Records and RED Ink Records. The band is best known for the commercially successful hit single "Shake It" from the group's self-titled debut album. In 2010, tension between Cyrus and Musso caused the band to go on hiatus. In 2011, the band returned, however, it was announced that Cyrus was no longer a part of the group and Musso had purchased the rights to the name.
The Maine is an American rock band from Tempe, Arizona. Formed in 2007, the group consists of lead vocalist, guitarist and pianist John O'Callaghan, lead guitarist Jared Monaco, bass guitarist Garrett Nickelsen, drummer Patrick Kirch, and rhythm guitarist Kennedy Brock. The band is joined by touring member Adam Simons, as of 2018, who plays keys, rhythm and lead guitar as well as percussion.
Breathe Carolina are an American electronic music duo from Denver, Colorado. The duo formed in 2007 consisting of David Schmitt and Kyle Even. They later expanded to a full band whose best-known lineup included Schmitt, Even, drummer Eric Armenta, keytarist Joshua Aragon and DJ Luis Bonet. In 2013, Even left the group, while Tommy Cooperman joined that year. Breathe Carolina is currently composed of Schmitt and Cooperman.

The Chainsmokers are an American electronic DJ and production duo consisting of Alex Pall and Drew Taggart. They started out by releasing remixes of songs by indie artists. The EDM-pop duo achieved a breakthrough with their 2014 song "#Selfie", which became a top-twenty single in several countries. They have won a Grammy Award, two American Music Awards, seven Billboard Music Awards and nine iHeartRadio Music Awards. According to Forbes' 2019 list of highest-paid celebrities, the Chainsmokers were the highest-paid DJs, dethroning Calvin Harris after six years.
Savoir Adore is a pop-rock group duo from Brooklyn, New York City, United States initially consisting of Paul Hammer and Deidre Muro. In 2014, Deidre Muro left the band while Hammer worked with a guest vocalist. Hammer began collaborating with Lauren Zettler shortly after, and she became a permanent member. As of June 2020 the band has released five albums, several EPs, numerous singles and a number of remixes albums. They also have done an international tour.
Nathaniel David Rateliff is an American singer and songwriter based in Denver, Colorado, whose influences are described as folk, Americana and vintage rhythm & blues. Rateliff has performed with a backing band called the Night Sweats for an R&B side project he formed in 2013. He has released three solo albums, two solo EPs, and one album as Nathaniel Rateliff & the Wheel.
Jean-Philip Grobler, known for his musical project St. Lucia, is a South African singer and musician based in Konstanz, Germany. He is signed to Nettwerk Records and to date has released four albums: When the Night (2013), Matter (2016), Hyperion (2018), and Utopia (2022).
X Ambassadors are an American pop rock band from Ithaca, New York, that consists of lead vocalist Sam Harris, keyboardist Casey Harris, and drummer Adam Levin. Russ Flynn is a touring member who plays guitar and bass. Their most notable songs include "Jungle", "Renegades", and "Unsteady". The band's debut full-length album, VHS, was released on June 30, 2015. Their second album, Orion, came out on June 14, 2019. Their third album, The Beautiful Liar, was issued on September 24, 2021. Their fourth album, Townie, came out on April 5, 2024.
Judah & the Lion are an American folk band from Nashville, Tennessee, formed in 2011. They have released four studio albums and five EPs. Currently the band consists of Judah Akers and Brian Macdonald.
Nicholas Bernard Santino is an American musician, singer-songwriter. He is best known as the lead singer and guitarist for the alternative rock band Beach Weather and former frontman of pop rock band A Rocket to the Moon. ARTTM albums included Your Best Idea (2006), On Your Side (2009) and Wild and Free (2013). After the band broke up in 2013, he went on to pursue a solo career and has released numerous solo EPs and a full-length album, Big Skies, which was released on May 27, 2014. In 2015, he formed the group Beach Weather.
Sylvan Esso is an American electropop duo from Durham, North Carolina which was formed in 2013. The band consists of singer Amelia Meath and producer Nick Sanborn. They made their debut with the single "Hey Mami" and released their eponymous debut album on Partisan Records on May 12, 2014. It reached No. 39 on the Billboard 200. They released their second album, What Now, with Loma Vista Recordings on April 28, 2017, which was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Dance/Electronic Album.
Steven Zhu, known mononymously as Zhu, is an American electronic music producer and singer who has been active since the beginning of 2014, signed to Mind of a Genius Records. Until mid-2014, Zhu remained anonymous, asking to be judged by his music alone. His debut album, Generationwhy, was released on July 29, 2016 and first premiered at Coachella during his closing set in the Sahara Tent. Zhu's Coachella performance was praised, with a writer for the New York Observer suggesting that he could be "the next Daft Punk".
EarthGang is an American hip hop duo from Atlanta, Georgia, composed of Olu and WowGr8. They are co-founders of the musical collective Spillage Village, with JID, Hollywood JB, JordxnBryant, 6lack, Mereba, and Benji.
Nothing but Thieves are an English rock band, formed in 2012 in Southend-on-Sea, Essex consisting of lead vocalist and guitarist Conor Mason, guitarist Joe Langridge-Brown, guitarist and keyboardist Dominic Craik, bassist Philip Blake, and drummer James Price. In 2014, they signed to RCA Records and a year later in October 2015, they released their self-titled debut album. Their second album, Broken Machine was released in September 2017, receiving wide acclaim in addition to peaking at No. 2 in the UK Album Charts. They released an EP titled What Did You Think When You Made Me This Way? in October 2018, followed by their third studio album, Moral Panic, in October 2020. This was followed in July 2021 by the album's "second part" with the EP entitled Moral Panic II. In June 2023, they released their fourth studio album, Dead Club City, which became their first UK No. 1 album.
The Score is an American alternative rock duo formed in New York City in 2011, now based in Los Angeles. The group consists of Eddie Anthony Ramirez and Edan Chai Dover. Chris Coombs and Logan Baldwin are touring members for the band. They were signed to Republic Records in 2015 after their song "Oh My Love" was featured in an advertising campaign for Asda supermarkets. They are currently signed to Imperial Records.
Joseph is an American folk band from Portland, Oregon made up of three sisters: Natalie Closner, and twins Allison Closner and Meegan Closner. Their first album, Native Dreamer Kin, was self-released in early 2014. Their second album I'm Alone, No You're Not was produced by Mike Mogis and was released on August 26, 2016, by ATO Records.
Fickle Friends are an English indie rock band from Brighton, East Sussex, England. The band formed in 2013, and is made up of Natassja Shiner, Harry Herrington, Sam Morris (drums) and Jack Wilson (keyboards). Natassja met Sam at Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts and met Chris, Harry and Jack the following year in BIMM Brighton.
Picture This are an Irish pop rock musical band based in Athy, County Kildare, Ireland, comprising Ryan Hennessy, Jimmy Rainsford, Owen Cardiff and Cliff Deane. In 2017, they released their eponymous debut album, which entered atop the Irish Albums Chart. In early 2019, they released their follow up album Mdrn Lv. Their third studio album Life in Colour was released in June 2021. On 26 April 2024 they released their fourth, Parked Car Conversations.
