Chickasaw County is a county located in the U.S. state of Iowa. As of the 2010 census, the population was 12,439. Its county seat is New Hampton. The county was named for the southern Indian Nation whose chief was Bradford.

Dresden Township covers an area of 35.98 square miles (93.2 km2) and contains no incorporated settlements. The western portion of the city of Fredericksburg impacts eastern Dresden Township. The unincorporated hamlet of Williamstown is at the intersection of 270th Street and Mission Avenue. According to the USGS, it contains three cemeteries: North East Iowa Garden of Memories, Saint Johns and West.

The Wapsipinicon River is a tributary of the Mississippi River, approximately 300 miles (480 km) long, in southeastern Minnesota and northeastern Iowa in the United States. It drains a rural farming region of rolling hills and bluffs north of Waterloo and Cedar Rapids.
Dresden Township contains one airport or landing strip, McFarland Hereford Farm Landing Strip. Highway US-18 traverses the township as 270th Street.
