The history of anime can be traced back to the start of the 20th century, with the earliest verifiable films dating from 1912. Before the advent of film, Japan already had a rich tradition of entertainment with colourful painted figures moving across the projection screen in utsushi-e (写し絵), a particular Japanese type of magic lantern show popular in the 19th century. Possibly inspired by European phantasmagoria shows, utsushi-e showmen used mechanical slides and developed lightweight wooden projectors (furo) that were handheld so that several performers could each control the motions of different projected figures.
Toshihiko Seki is a Japanese actor, voice actor, singer and narrator. In June 2004, Seki was honored by the readers of Animage Magazine in the 26th Annual Reader's Poll, where he was ranked the 9th favorite voice actor, largely in recognition of his performance as Rau Le Creuset from Mobile Suit Gundam SEED. In August 2007 the Anime News Network called him one of the more prolific male voice actors with 215 roles credited to his name. Seki often voices characters who are very serious or easily agitated like Duo Maxwell in Mobile Suit Gundam Wing, Iruka Umino in Naruto, Kaien Shiba in Bleach and Genjo Sanzo in Saiyuki but he also plays deranged villains like Legato Bluesummers, Rau Le Creuset, Embryo and Muzan Kibutsuji. His most famous role is the Imagin Momotaros from Kamen Rider Den-O, reprising the role numerous productions since then. In August 2020, he contracted COVID-19 and was hospitalized. He recovered and was discharged on August 14, 2020.

Peter Alexander Spellos was an American voice actor. Spellos appeared in hundreds of films and television shows. He died from pancreatic cancer in Indianapolis, Indiana on November 19, 2023, at the age of 69.

Gurren Lagann, known in Japan as Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, is a Japanese mecha anime television series animated by Gainax and co-produced by Aniplex and Konami. It ran for 27 episodes on TV Tokyo between April and September 2007. It was directed by Hiroyuki Imaishi and written by veteran playwright Kazuki Nakashima. Gurren Lagann takes place in a fictional future where Earth is ruled by the Spiral King, Lordgenome, who forces mankind to live in isolated subterranean villages. The plot focuses on two teenagers, Simon and Kamina, who live in a subterranean village and wish to go to the surface. Using a mecha known as Lagann, Simon and Kamina reach the surface and start fighting alongside other humans against Lordgenome's forces, before fighting the forces of their true enemy.

Animaze.. iNC was an American production company known for producing English language dubs for many high profile anime series, such as Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, Code Geass, and Wolf's Rain, and video games, such as Xenosaga Episode I: Der Wille zur Macht and the .hack series. It was also known for its work on anime films such as Ghost in the Shell and the redub of Akira. The company was founded by Kevin Seymour, formerly of U.S. Renditions. The company closed when Kevin Seymour died in 2014.

Throughout her life, she has been affiliated with Channel 9 ; she is also affiliated with TIGA, and Dream Express (DEX), where she has worked on numerous of Thai dubbed anime. Before started voice acting, she was worked as copywriter and newsreader in the 1980s, she also worked as director and TV producer for Channel 9. Viphada's first major role was Thai dubbed version of Usagi Tsukino in Sailor Moon aired on Channel 9 in the 1990s. Puella Magi Madoka Magica, also known simply as Madoka Magica, is a Japanese anime television series created by Magica Quartet; and animated by Shaft. The story follows a group of middle school girls, led by protagonist Madoka Kaname, who make supernatural contracts to become magical girls. In battling surreal enemies known as "witches", they learn of the anguish and peril associated with their new roles. The first ten episodes of the series aired on TBS and MBS between January and March 2011, while the final two episodes were delayed until April of the same year due to the Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami.
Aniplex of America, Inc. or Aniplex USA is the U.S. distribution enterprise of Aniplex, an anime and music production company owned by Sony Music Entertainment Japan. It was established in March 2005 in Santa Monica, California, with the goal of reinforcing the parent company's licensing business in the North American market. They operate the English language version of the Aniplex+ store, and from 2013 to 2017 operated a streaming service called Aniplex Channel through their website. The company most of the time only directly releases its titles in the Americas, however, some of its titles have been released in other territories by other distributors, such as Anime Limited, Manga Entertainment, MVM Films, Madman Anime Group, and Siren Visual.
