Hit by a Asteroid , the Moon risks breaking apart. Dr. Lana Gale(Amy Price-Francis), the daughter of a famous scientist who had vainly predicted such an event, is alarmed by the rapid climate changes and the large lunar fragments falling on the planet, and attempts to mobilize the leaders of the American Space Institute to find a solution. Once she managed to convince the skeptical Victor Stevens(Dirk Benedict), without whose consent the operation could not have been carried out, she involves the building demolition expert John Redding(Stephen Baldwin) with the aim of embarking him on the Space Shuttle Perseus and mine the satellite's rift with nuclear charges [2]
