Inspired almost entirely by Jonny's early experiences with Sony Vegas editing software, Eclectic Method's audiovisual style quickly developed into a live performance featuring video turntables (Pioneer DVJ-1000) - mixing videos, often acapellas, as integral parts of their astounding audio mashups. [1] As a live act, they have travelled around the world playing hundreds of gigs in Asia, North America, South America, Europe and the Middle East.
After the early period in which EM's output was considered[ by whom? ] bootleg and unofficial, video remixes Eclectic Method were called upon by artists including Fatboy Slim and U2 [2] and by film, video, and television companies such as New Line Cinema [3] and Palm Pictures.
Eclectic Method appears as one of the featured artists on Copyright Criminals , a 2009 documentary film directed and produced by Benjamin Franzen and Kembrew McLeod examining the creative and the commercial value of sampling.

Norman Quentin Cook, also known by his stage name Fatboy Slim, is an English musician, DJ, and record producer who helped to popularise the big beat genre in the 1990s. In the 1980s, Cook was the bassist for the Hull-based indie rock band the Housemartins, who achieved a UK number-one single with their a cappella cover of "Caravan of Love". After the Housemartins split up, Cook formed the electronic band Beats International in Brighton, who produced the number-one single "Dub Be Good to Me". He then played in Freak Power, Pizzaman, and the Mighty Dub Katz with moderate success.
