Nsukka is a town and a Local Government Area in Enugu State,Nigeria. Nsukka shares a common border as a town with Edem,Opi,Ede-Oballa,and Obimo.
The University of Nigeria,commonly referred to as UNN,is a federal university located in Nsukka,Enugu State,Eastern part of Nigeria. Founded in 1955 by Nnamdi Azikiwe who was the Governor General of Nigeria between 1960 and 1963,and first President of Nigeria between 1963 and 1966. The University of Nigeria Nsukka was formally opened on 7 October 1960. The University of Nigeria has three campuses in Enugu State–Nsukka,Enugu,and Ituku-Ozalla –and the Aba campus in Abia State.
Enugu State is a state in the South-East geopolitical zone of Nigeria,bordered to the north by the states of Benue and Kogi,Ebonyi State to the east and southeast,Abia State to the south,and Anambra State to the west. The state takes its name from its capital and largest city,Enugu. The city acquired township status in 1917 and was called Enugwu-Ngwo. Due to the rapid expansion towards areas owned by other indigenous communities,it was renamed Enugu in 1928.
Fidelia Akuabata Njeze is a Nigerian politician and diplomat. She was a former Nigerian Ambassador to Switzerland and Liechtenstein. Njeze was previously appointed Nigerian minister of Aviation on 6 April 2010,when Acting President Goodluck Jonathan announced his new cabinet. Before that appointment,she served as Minister of State for Agriculture and Water Resources and also Minister of State for Defence in the cabinet of late President Umaru Yar'Adua.

Nru Nsukka is a suburb located in Nsukka town. Nru Nsukka is one of the former old three autonomous communities:Mkpunanor,Nru and Ihe n'Owerre that made up the Nsukka urban area. Nru Nsukka having been upgraded to a suburban area was split into three newer autonomous communities with newly installed traditional rulers. Since 2018,the suburb is now made up of Iheagu Nru autonomous community with its traditional ruler as Sylvanus Arumah,Ezema ne Edem autonomous community with its traditional ruler as Linus.O. Atugwu and the youngest being Umuoyo Nru autonomous community with Paul Atanike as its traditional ruler elect.
Benjamin Chukwuma Ozumba is a Nigerian Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology who served as the 14th Vice Chancellor of the University of Nigeria,Nsukka. He succeeded Bath Okolo who was the 13th Vice Chancellor of the University of Nigeria. After his tenure,he handed over to the current Vice Chancellor of the University of Nigeria,Nsukka,Professor Charles Arinzechukwu Igwe. Ozumba served as the provost of the college of medicine of the same university between the years 2004 and 2008. The University of Nigeria became the first university in Nigeria to assemble laptops when he was appointed Vice Chancellor and the university opened its first indigenous University Laptop Assembly Complex. The first batch of laptops bearing the Lion brand were released. UNN also founded the Lion Science Park,Nigeria's first university-based science park. A gasification plant was constructed to create synthetic gas from organic solid materials for use in the production of electric power and other uses for the University of Nigeria community. During his tenure also,the University of Nigeria held the first position amongst Nigerian universities in the Webometrics University Ranking for more than three times in Google Scholar citation profiles.
Chinwe Nwogo Ezeani,is a Nigerian Chartered Librarian and the immediate past University Librarian of Nnamdi Azikiwe Library,University of Nigeria,Nsukka (U.N.N.). She is a Professor of Library and Information Science. Her tenure as a University Librarian (UL) at Nnamdi Azikiwe Library was between March 2014-March 2019. She is the first female University Librarian since the inception of Nnamdi Azikiwe Library,University of Nigeria Nsukka. In April,2021,Dr. Ilo Promise Ifeoma took over as the current University Librarian of Nnamdi Azikiwe Library,(U.N.N)
Nancy Ekwulira Achebe is a Nigerian professor of library and information science. She is the first vice president of the Nigerian School Library Association (NSLA) and the current head of the department of Library and Information Science at the University of Nigeria,Nsukka (UNN). She has also been the director of the School of General Studies at UNN,and has published about 70 articles in journals and newspapers.
Miriam Odinchezo Iruaku Ikejiani-Clark was a Nigerian Professor of Political Science at the University of Nigeria Nsukka,Enugu State,who also served as minister of state for the Federal Capital Territory.

Bernard Ifeanyi Odoh is a Nigerian Politician and Professor of Applied Geophysics. He was the Secretary to the Ebonyi State Government from 2015 to 2018. He also was the gubernatorial nominee of the All Progressives Grand Alliance in Ebonyi State in 2023.
Emeka Patrick Nwabueze is the first Emeritus Professor of Theatre and Film Studies of the University of Nigeria,Nsukka. He is also a former dean of Faculty of Arts and ex- director of African studies of the institution.
