An aircraft pilot or aviator is a person who controls the flight of an aircraft by operating its directional flight controls. Some other aircrew members, such as navigators or flight engineers, are also considered aviators, because they are involved in operating the aircraft's navigation and engine systems. Other aircrew members, such as flight attendants, mechanics and ground crew, are not classified as aviators.
Instrument rating refers to the qualifications that a pilot must have in order to fly under instrument flight rules (IFR). It requires specific training and instruction beyond what is required for a private pilot certificate or commercial pilot certificate, including rules and procedures specific to instrument flying, additional instruction in meteorology, and more intensive training in flight solely by reference to instruments.
Pilot licensing or certification refers to permits on how to operate aircraft that are issued by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) in each country, establishing that the holder has met a specific set of knowledge and experience requirements. This includes taking a flying test. The certified pilot can then exercise a specific set of privileges in that nation's airspace. Despite attempts to harmonize the requirements between nations, the differences in certification practices and standards from place to place serve to limit full international validity of the national qualifications. In addition, U.S. pilots are certified, not licensed, although the word license is still commonly used informally. Legally, pilot certificates can be revoked by administrative action, whereas licensing requires intervention by the judiciary system.
Pilot certification in the United States is typically required for an individual to act as a pilot-in-command of an aircraft. It is regulated by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), a branch of the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT). A pilot is certified under the authority of Parts 61, under 141 of Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations, also known as the Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), or under part 107 rules for drone operation.
Pilot licensing in the United Kingdom is regulated by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) under the auspices of the European Aviation Safety Agency. Each member nation in the EU has responsibility for regulating their own pilot licensing. The principal reference for flight crew licensing in the UK is CAP 804 which is published by the CAA on paper and online.

Lethbridge Airport, previously Lethbridge County Airport, is located 4 nautical miles south southeast of Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada. It is 10–15 driving minutes from downtown and has scheduled service to the city of Calgary, Alberta. The airport is classified as an airport of entry by Nav Canada and is staffed by the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) on a call-out basis from the Sweetgrass-Coutts Border Crossing. CBSA officers at this airport can handle general aviation aircraft only, with no more than 15 passengers. The airport hosts the biennial Lethbridge International Airshow.
A flight instructor is a person who teaches others to fly aircraft. Especially Rotor/Helicopter Flight Instructors. Specific privileges granted to holders of a flight instructor qualification vary from country to country, but very generally, a flight instructor serves to enhance or evaluate the knowledge and skill level of an aviator in pursuit of a higher pilot's license, certificate or rating.
Alkan Air Ltd. is an airline headquartered in Whitehorse, Yukon, Canada. The company operates seven-day-a-week charter and air ambulance (medevac) services. The Whitehorse and Mayo (seasonal) bases generally focus on wheel and floatplane charter and medevac services in northern and western Canada and Alaska. It is located 25 nautical miles southwest of the central business district of Atlanta, in Peachtree City. This airport is included in the National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2017–2021, which categorized it as a regional general aviation facility.
The Moncton Flight College (MFC) is a pilot training school based at the Greater Moncton International Airport (CYQM) in Dieppe, New Brunswick, Canada. They have a second location at the Fredericton International Airport (YFC) in Lincoln, NB. In a year, MFC has the capacity to train 450 students between the Moncton and Fredericton Campus. Currently the Moncton Campus offers domestic and international programs with a 260-student capacity and a staff of 55. The Fredericton campus is primarily for Chinese student training with some modular based flight training and has a capacity of 190 students and employs 70 people. Both of the campuses have on-site kitchens and residences. MFC is the largest private flight school in Canada. It is also one of six, out of 150 schools in Canada, to be given integrated status. The college has trained over 20,000 pilots from approximately 70 countries since 1929. MFC has an approved FTU, ATO and AMO from Transport Canada and also has CAAC (China) approval.
The Pacific Flying Club is a flight school based out of Boundary Bay Airport in Delta, British Columbia. It is the largest flight school on the west coast of Canada. The Pacific Flying Club was formed on July 14, 1965. In 2015 the club celebrated its 50th anniversary by hosting the Webster Memorial Trophy Competition.
Harford County Airport is a public airport located in the unincorporated community of Churchville, in Harford County, Maryland, USA. Harford County Airport is a general aviation (GA) airport in northern Maryland that serves primarily recreational pilots. There are three runways at Harford, two grass/turf and one paved. The popular runway in the summer time is the grass runway 01/19. However, in November, the turf is closed as the grass generally remains wet and soggy over the winter months. The diagonal turf runway 14/32 is rarely used by powered pilots except during high crosswind conditions. The prevailing winds generally vary between favoring 28 and 19. The airport has a large sailplane/glider contingent and is home of the Atlantic Soaring Club. The airport serves some commercial activities, mainly sight seeing and flight training as well as biplane rides and hot air balloons. In the Spring of 2012 a Skydiving company, Skydive Baltimore, moved their operations from Ridgley and started operations at the airport.

Air Spray (1967) Ltd. trading as Air Spray Airtankers of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and Air Spray USA Inc of Chico, California is a private company specializing in aerial wildfire suppression using air tanker or water bomber aircraft. Air Spray was owned and operated by Canada's Aviation Hall of Fame inductee, Donald T. Hamilton until his passing in 2011. The company continues to be owned by the Hamilton family of Edmonton, Alberta.
Letalski center Maribor short LCM is the oldest and the biggest Slovenian aero club operating at international Maribor Airport operating with 11 aircraft and 11 gliders. Founded on December 20, 1927 in Maribor and It is well known for its flight school, ever since. It is considered to be the highest quality general aviation aero club in the country and Balkans. Annual number of flight hours is around 3500 h and 10000 landings.
Vera Elsie Strodl Dowling (1918–2015) was a Danish pilot who gained fame in the Second World War as the only Scandinavian woman to fly for the RAF's Air Transport Auxiliary. Later, based in Alberta, Canada, she instructed pilots under the Commonwealth Training Programme. In May 2000, she was honoured with membership of Canada's Aviation Hall of Fame.
