Elachista bassii is a moth of the family Elachistidae that is found in the north of Nepal. [1]
The wingspan is 5–5.5 millimetres (0.20–0.22 in) for males. One third of the forewing, beneath the costa, is occupied by a yellowish white fascia from which bronzy area starts. The ventral side of the wings is brilliant grey. The females are brachypterous.
The species is named for Dr. Graziano Bassi.
The Elachistidae are a family of small moths in the superfamily Gelechioidea. Some authors lump about 3,300 species in eight subfamilies here, but this arrangement almost certainly results in a massively paraphyletic and completely unnatural assemblage, united merely by symplesiomorphies retained from the first gelechioid moths.

Hindwings are rather dark grey. The larva is greenish-grey, more yellowish anteriorly; head dark brown.
