Elaeodendron schinoides (known as the spoonwood or smalblad), is a species of flowering plant in family Celastraceae. [1] It is a medium-sized tree from the southern Western Cape province of South Africa. It has opposing leaves that show elastic threads when broken, and red fleshy fruit that becomes dry later in the year.
The Cape crow or black crow is slightly larger than the carrion crow and is completely black with a slight gloss of purple in its feathers. It also has proportionately longer legs, wings, and tail, and has a much longer, slimmer bill that seems to be adapted for probing into the ground for invertebrates. The head feathers have a coppery-purple gloss and the throat feathers are quite long and fluffed out in some calls and displays.
Curtisia dentata is a flowering tree from Southern Africa. It is the sole species in genus Curtisia, which was originally classed as a type of "dogwood" (Cornaceae), but is now placed in its own unique family Curtisiaceae.

The park is managed by South African National Parks. The property is included as part of the UNESCO Cape Floral Region World Heritage Site.
Nature's Valley is a holiday resort and small village on the Garden Route along the southern Cape coast of South Africa. Nature's Valley lies between the Salt River, the foothills of the Tsitsikamma Mountains, the Indian Ocean and the Groot River lagoon. Cassine laneana, commonly known as the Bermuda olivewood, is a species of large tree in the staff vine family, Celastraceae, that is endemic to the islands of Bermuda. Although once found in the extensive subtropical coniferous forests that covered the islands, it is currently restricted to small protected areas, such as Spittal Pond. C. laneana can grow anywhere from 25 to 40 feet tall, with leaves that are 1 to 2.5 inches long and 0.5 to 1.5 inches wide. The leaves are also a deep green colour when they are older and a bright green colour when they are younger. C. laneana flowers in late spring and early summer and produces a small ovate berry that is an olive colour and 0.25 to 0.5 inches long.

The Tokai Arboretum was the first large-scale silviculture experimental station in Cape Town, South Africa. The area of the main Arboretum, at Tokai Park, is 14 ha. Several adjacent compartments extend the area to 26 ha. The Arboretum was declared a National Monument in 1985, on its 100th anniversary. It contains stands of Eucalyptus and other trees from the original silviculture experiments in South Africa. In the 1990s a Gondwana Garden was created to display the plants typical of the Cape 100 million years ago.
