The Electric Production Car Series (previously known as the Electric GT Championship) was a proposed zero-emission international auto racing championship organized by Electric GT Holdings. The inaugural season was planned to take place in 2018, but was cancelled due to a lack of a lead investor. [1] [2]
Each race weekend were to consist of a 20-minute practice session and a 30-minute qualifying session followed by two races, one day race and one dusk race, each lasting 60 kilometers. [3] The organizer also intended to run an electric kart racing series to recruit drivers. [4]
For the inaugural season of the championship, all teams were to be supplied with identical versions of a modified Tesla Model S, with the intention of introducing other manufacturers later. [5]
The initial Tesla model announced for the championship was the Model S P85, which was later updated to the Model S P100D for tests on the Circuit de Calafat in Spain in December 2016. [6] The car was modified with improved brakes, suspension, aerodynamics, and an overall reduction of weight. [7] Pirelli would be the sole tire supplier, [3] [4] and MAGNUM CAP would provide charging systems consisting of a 20 CHAdeMO-standard fast charger, which would charge the vehicles at a rate of 55 kW. [8]
In January 2017, the car was tested and filmed on the Circuit Pau-Arnos in France. [9] [10]
A provisional calendar for the inaugural 2018–19 season was announced on 24 April 2018. [12] A pool of drivers to be contesting the series, called the Drivers' Club, had also been announced, but no drivers were assigned to or claimed by the sole confirmed team. [13] The season was postponed in September 2018, which effectively resulted in the cancellation of the series as no replacement dates have been announced since. [2]

Nissan Motorsports International, abbreviated as Nismo, is a division of Nissan Motorsports & Customizing focused in motorsport and performance-oriented car models for Nissan. Nismo was initially a company, Nissan Motorsports International Co., Ltd., formed in 1984 as a result of a merger of two motorsport departments, being the in-house tuning, motorsports and performance subsidiary of Nissan. It has competed in JSPC, JTCC, the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the 24 Hours of Daytona. They currently participate in Super GT and Formula E. Nismo ceased to be a company in April 2022 by being merged with sister company Autech into a new Nissan subsidiary, Nissan Motorsport & Customizing.
The Trans-Am Series presented by Pirelli is a sports car racing series held in North America. Founded in 1966, it is sanctioned by the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA). Primarily based in the United States, the series competes on a variety of track types including road courses and street circuits. Trans-Am is split into the TA and TA2 classes for silhouette racing cars, while its production classes are the GT, SGT, and XGT.
The Japanese Super Formula Championship is a formula racing series held primarily in Japan. It is considered to be the pinnacle of single-seater racing in Japan or Asia as a whole, making it one of the top motorsport series in the region. Ryan A. Eversley is an American professional auto racing driver. He currently races the No. 07 Toyota GR GT4 Supra Evo for Precision Racing L.A. in the Pirelli GT4 America series as well as serving as Head of Driver and Racing Business Development for them and their sister team L.A. Honda World Racing. He is affectionately referred to as "The People's Champ," due to his fan interactions. From 2015 to 2023, Eversley was a Honda factory driver who primarily raced in sports car racing championships such as the Michelin Pilot Challenge and Pirelli World Challenge. He won the 2018 Pirelli World Challenge TCR championship.
The 2012 FIA GT1 World Championship was the third and final season of the SRO Group's FIA GT1 World Championship, an auto racing series for grand tourer cars. The 2012 championship, which opened to GT3 Series Grand Touring cars, featured two titles awarded to the highest scoring competitors over the course of the season: the GT1 World Championship for Drivers and the GT1 World Championship for Teams. The series underwent regulation changes in 2012 with GT3 cars replacing the GT1 category vehicles used in the previous two seasons of the World Championship. Hexis AMR, now under the title Hexis Racing, returned as the defending Teams' World Champions, while German drivers Michael Krumm and Lucas Luhr didn't return to the series to defend their Drivers' World Championships.
K-PAX Racing is an automobile racing team in the SCCA's Pirelli World Challenge racing series. Founded in 2006, team owner Jim Haughey partnered with Bob Raub, bringing a team of Porsche 911 GT3s to the track. However, from 2009 to 2013, it has campaigned Volvo S60s with great success. For 2014, K-PAX Racing switched to McLaren MP4-12C GT3 race cars and continued its relationship with the manufacturer the following three seasons by updating to the McLaren 650S GT3 model. Since joining the Pirelli World Challenge in 2007, K-PAX Racing has celebrated four driver championships and has solidified the team as a perennial championship contender.
The 2015 ADAC GT Masters season was the ninth season of the ADAC GT Masters, the grand tourer-style sports car racing founded by the German automobile club ADAC. The season started on 25 April at Motorsport Arena Oschersleben and ended on 4 October at Hockenheim after eight double-header meetings. René Rast and Kelvin van der Linde entered the season as the defending Drivers' Champions. Prosperia C. Abt Racing entered the season as the defending Teams' Champion.
The 2016 SprintX GT Championship Series was the inaugural season of the SprintX GT Championship Series. The series was managed by WC Vision and sanctioned by the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA). On May 28, 2015 WC Vision announced it would be launching the SprintX GT Championship Series as a support series of the Pirelli World Challenge. Similar to GT races in the PWC, SprintX races had a sprint format as races were 60 minutes in length. The difference between PWC GT races and SprintX races was that SprintX races featured mandatory driver and tire changes.
Scuderia Corsa is an American automotive racing team based in Las Vegas competing in the IMSA SportsCar Championship, Pirelli World Challenge and Ferrari Challenge in North America. Founded in 2012 by Giacomo Mattioli and Art Zafiropoulo, the team has the main purpose of supporting the racing needs of Ferrari clients, starting from customizable track-day events to the Ferrari Challenge Series to the most prestigious GT endurance racing such as the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans. Scuderia Corsa is the racing arm of Mattioli Automotive Group, inclusive of Ferrari Beverly Hills and Ferrari Westlake. In 2022 Giacomo Mattioli acquired Art Zafiropoulo shares becoming the sole owner of the racing team.
The FIA Formula 2 Championship is a second-tier single-seater championship organized by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA). Held on racing circuits, the championship was introduced in 2017, following the rebranding of the long-term Formula One feeder series GP2. The series' original founders were Flavio Briatore and current managing director Bruno Michel.

A TCR Touring Car is a touring car specification, first introduced in 2014 and is now employed by a multitude of series worldwide. All TCR Touring Cars are front-wheel drive cars based on 4 or 5 door production vehicles, and are powered by 1.75 to 2.0 litre turbocharged engines. While the bodyshell and suspension layout of the production vehicle is retained in a TCR car, and many models use a production gearbox, certain accommodations are made for the stresses of the racetrack including upgraded brakes and aerodynamics. Competition vehicles are subject to balance of performance (BoP) adjustments to ensure close racing between different vehicles.
The FIA Formula 3 Championship is a third-tier international single-seater racing championship and organised by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA). The championship launched in 2019 as a feeder series for the FIA Formula 1 World Championship and FIA Formula 2 Championships. It was the result of a merger between two third-tier single-seater racing championships, the GP3 Series and the FIA Formula 3 European Championship as it was announced on 10 March 2018. The championship is part of the FIA Global Pathway consolidation project plan. Unlike its predecessor, the Formula 3 European Championship, the series runs exclusively in support of Formula One races.
The 2019 TC America Series was the first season of the United States Auto Club's TC America Series. It was the third season of the series, originally part of the Touring Car categories at the 2017 Pirelli World Challenge, and second season as a standalone class. Under the global realignment of the Blancpain GT World Challenge America by SRO Motorsports Group, the GT4 and TCR classes are now declared separate support series, and not under the same umbrella of the World Challenge as it was prior to SRO's ownership. However, the series will continue to be part of the World Challenge. The TCR division will include a DSG Cup for vehicles equipped with a Direct-shift gearbox.
The 2020 GT Sports Club America is the inaugural season of the SRO Motorsports Group's GT Sports Club America, an auto racing series for grand tourer cars. GT Sports Club America is a championship for Bronze, Titanium and Iron drivers only. The Titanium categorisation is within the Bronze category, for drivers between the age of 50 and 59. The Iron categorisation is within the Bronze category, for drivers over the age of 60. The races are contested with GT2-spec and GT3-spec cars. The season began on 11 July at Virginia and will end on 3 October at Indianapolis.
The 2022 Super GT Series was a motor racing championship based in Japan for grand touring cars, sanctioned by the Japan Automobile Federation (JAF) and run by the GT Association (GTA). It was the thirtieth season of the JAF Super GT Championship which includes the All Japan Grand Touring Car Championship era, and the eighteenth season under the Super GT name. It was also the fortieth overall season of a national JAF sportscar championship dating back to the All Japan Endurance/Sports Prototype Championship.
