ELICO is a company headquartered in Hyderabad, India, and was established in 1960. It is the first analytical instruments manufacturing company in India which designs, develops and manufactures electronic analytical instruments and also offers products in the field of instrumentation, mechoptronics, instrumentation for homeland security and application software development.

History

The company was established in 1960 in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh. The company started its venture with design, development & manufacturing of Analytical Instruments like pH meter for the first time in India. Elico has developed several technologies in the areas of spectrophotometry, [1] chromatography, electrochemistry, flame photometry instrumentation and also works with global leaders in product development and manufacturing (ODM Services). [2] The company has a network of sales and service centres in all important cities.

Elico instituted "Excellence in Research & Development" award in association with FAPCCI (The Federation of Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry) to foster and enhance R&D efforts in small-scale industries. [3] [4]

Elico collaborated with universities in industry training to reduce the skills gap in instrumentation industry. [5]

Elico significantly contributed for the development of instrumentation industry in India by actively participating in a committee constituted by Indian National Science Academy, New Delhi. [6]

The Singareni Collieries Company Limited or SCCL is a government-owned coal mining company in India. Economy of Hyderabad

Economy of Telangana

Telangana is one of the fastest growing states in India posing average annual growth rate of 13.90% over the last five years. Telangana's [[Nominal GDP|nominal gross state domestic product for the year 2020-21 stands at ₹11.05 lakh crore. Service sector is the largest contributor to the Telangana's economy with a share of about 65% in the year 2018-19. Growth in services has largely been fuelled by IT services with the State holding leading position in IT & ITeS in the country in terms of production and exports.

The Indian electronics industry saw growth in the early years of the 21st century, encouraged both by government policies and incentives and by international investment. Its key and most resource-intensive segment, the semiconductor industry benefitted from domestic demand growing briskly. Semiconductors were required by a large number of industries, including telecommunications, information technology, industrial machinery and automation, medical electronics, automobile, engineering, power and solar photovoltaic, defense and aerospace, consumer electronics, and appliances. As of 2015, however, the skill gap in Indian industry threatened progress, with 65 to 70 per cent of the market relying on imports.

National Institute of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises

National Institute for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (NI-MSME) is a national institute aimed to foster the progress of micro, small and medium enterprises in India under Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises. NI-MSME is registered in Hyderabad, Telangana, under Public Societies Registration Act I of 1350 Fasli with effective from 1st July 1962. The affairs of the Society are managed, administered, directed and controlled through Governing Council constituted by the Government of India as per Rule 22(a & b) of Rules and Regulations of the Society. The Society, as provided under Rule 3 of Rules and Regulations, was constituted by the Government of India. The Institute has been working in the areas of capacity building, research, skill upgradation, job enrichment training in the field of Entrepreneurship and Skill including the development of women pursuing small trades at the cottage industry level from an Incubation centre at NI-MSME.
