The West Seneca Central School District is the third largest central school district in Western New York, and one of the largest school districts in New York State. It serves 25 square miles (65 km2), including a majority of the town of West Seneca, and portions of the towns of Cheektowaga, Orchard Park, and Hamburg. It was centralized in 1946.

Lafayette High School was a public high school in Buffalo, New York. It was the oldest public school in Buffalo that remained in its original building, a stone, brick and terra-cotta structure in the French Renaissance Revival style by architects August Esenwein and James A. Johnson. Although classes began off-site during construction of the school, the building was completed and graduated its first class in 1903. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. It is located in Buffalo's Upper West Side at 370 Lafayette Avenue.
Hutchinson Central Technical High School, informally known as Hutch-Tech, is a high school in the City of Buffalo, New York. Its founding on September 14, 1904 under the name Mechanics Arts High School marked the beginning of technical education on the secondary level in the city of Buffalo. With more urban townships like Lackawanna and the City of Buffalo to the north and the rural setting of Evans and Eden to the south, Frontier is often called the "outmost frontier" of the city and acts as the gateway to the rural Southtowns. The high school is attended by students in grades 9-12. It is the high school for the Frontier Central School District. The principal is Mr. Daniel Charland, and the assistant principals are Dr. David Smaczniak, Mr. James Helmicki, and Mrs. Shannon Thurston.

It operated from 1927 until 1977, reopened in 2005 and closed again in 2018 due to low academic performance. East High began phasing out in 2015 and was replaced by East Community High School and Pathways Academy, which are both housed in the building.
