The State University of New York at Buffalo, commonly called the University at Buffalo (UB) and sometimes called SUNY Buffalo, is a public research university with campuses in Buffalo and Amherst, New York, United States. The university was founded in 1846 as a private medical college and merged with the State University of New York system in 1962. It is one of the two flagship institutions of the SUNY system. As of fall 2020, the university enrolled 32,347 students in 13 schools and colleges, making it the largest public university in the state of New York.

D'Youville University is a private university in Buffalo, New York. It was founded as D'Youville College in 1908 and named by the Grey Nuns after the patroness saint Marie-Marguerite d'Youville. As of fall 2020 D'Youville College served 2,785 students and had 54 degree majors the health sciences, business, and liberal arts for undergraduate and graduate students. In February 2022, the New York State Board of Regents approved a name change to D'Youville University.

Pierrefonds Community High School, is a non-denominational, English speaking educational facility located in the Pierrefonds-Roxboro borough of Montreal, Quebec, Canada with an enrollment capacity of approximately 1,200 students, in grades 7 through 11. It operates within the Lester B. Pearson School Board and has functioned as a secondary school since 1971. Having been originally named Pierrefonds Comprehensive High School, the slight name variation was added after the merge with Riverdale High School in 2019. The principal of the school is Lucia V. Coretti.
Lafayette High School was a public high school in Buffalo, New York. It was the oldest public school in Buffalo that remained in its original building, a stone, brick and terra-cotta structure in the French Renaissance Revival style by architects August Esenwein and James A. Johnson. Although classes began off-site during construction of the school, the building was completed and graduated its first class in 1903. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. It is located in Buffalo's Upper West Side at 370 Lafayette Avenue.

John F. Kennedy High School is a former four-year comprehensive New York City public high school, located at 99 Terrace View Avenue along the border of the Spuyten Duyvil section of the Bronx and the Marble Hill neighborhood of Manhattan, near the Kingsbridge section of the Bronx. The building currently operates as John F. Kennedy Educational Campus, housing five public high schools and two charter high schools. The campus serves grades 9–12 and is operated by the New York City Department of Education.

Niagara Catholic High School was a private, Roman Catholic high school in Niagara Falls, New York within the Diocese of Buffalo. It was the only remaining Catholic high school in Niagara County until its closure in June 2018. It closed due to poor management and a disconnect with its alumni base. Examples include changing the school nickname from "Big Red" to the Patriots which alienated many alumni.
The Lafayette Township School District is a comprehensive community public school district that serves students in kindergarten through eighth grade from Lafayette Township, in Sussex County, New Jersey, United States.
Riverside Institute of Technology was a public high school located in Buffalo, New York. It served Grades 9–12 and taught according to the Board of Regents. Riverside closed in June 2019 after years of low academic performance and safety concerns.
East High School was a comprehensive high school located in the East Side of Buffalo, New York. It operated from 1927 until 1977, reopened in 2005 and closed again in 2018 due to low academic performance. East High began phasing out in 2015 and was replaced by East Community High School and Pathways Academy, which are both housed in the building.
The International Preparatory School is a high school that serves grades 9–12 in the Lower West Side of Buffalo, New York. It focuses on providing ample college coursework to prepare its students for post-secondary education. The school chiefly draws on the largely immigrant population of the West Side, and over 40 languages are spoken by the student body. The current principal is Ms. Ella Dunne.

Founded in 1846, it is one of the oldest medical schools in the United States and is the only medical school in Buffalo. It is part of the State University of New York (SUNY) system.
