Lillian Barbara Board, was a British athlete. She won the silver medal in the 400 metres at the 1968 Summer Olympics in Mexico City, and two gold medals at the 1969 European Championships in Athletics in Athens. Her career was cut short in 1970 when she developed the colorectal cancer that within months would claim her life.
Captain Percival Talbot "Percy" Molson, MC was a Canadian star athlete and soldier. After an outstanding sports career with McGill University, Molson joined its administration. Molson died fighting in World War I. In his will, he donated funds for McGill to build its football stadium, named Percival Molson Memorial Stadium in his honour.

Douglas Thomas Anakin was a Canadian bobsleigh competitor. Brent Emery was a cyclist for the United States at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, California, where he won a silver medal in the team pursuit. He married Julie Emery (Fluet) on August 3, 1985 after meeting her at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics where she came to watch her brother, Steve Hegg win a gold and silver medal, also in cycling. Gurbachan Singh Randhawa is a former Indian athlete who won a gold medal at the 1962 Asian Games in decathlon. He participated in the 1960 and 1964 Olympics in 110 hurdles, high jump and decathlon. He finished fifth in the 110 hurdles at the 1964 Tokyo Olympics with a timing of 14.07 seconds. He was honoured with the Arjuna Award in 1961 thus becoming the first athlete from the country to get the award and with the Padma Shri in 2005. The women's 800 metres at the 1928 Summer Olympics took place between August 1 and August 2. Some press reports of the event claimed that many of the competitors were exhausted or failed to finish the race. According to Lynne Emery, these reports were inaccurate and the athletes were winded as normal after a race. In any case, the idea that the distance was too great for women prompted the IOC to drop it from the Olympic programme. It was reintroduced in 1960.

Dan Gill is a retired American gymnast and current Chief Product officer of Carvana. Formerly, Dan was the CEO of webforum company Huddler. Gill was an all-arounder, but weaker in rings and parallel bars than the other events. He attributed this to his relatively tall stature for a gymnast. On floor exercise, Gill performed an extremely difficult mount: a double-twisting double backflip with immediate punch to a one and one-quarter front flip. On high bar, he dismounted with a rare difficult trick, a triple twisting double layout (Fedorchenko).
Steven Keith "Steve" Hug is an American former artistic gymnast who was active in the 1960s and 1970s. Hug competed in two Olympic Games and the 1974 World Championships.
