Lillian Barbara Board, was a British athlete. She won the silver medal in the 400 metres at the 1968 Summer Olympics in Mexico City, and two gold medals at the 1969 European Championships in Athletics in Athens. Her career was cut short in 1970 when she developed the colorectal cancer that within months would claim her life at the age of 22.
Captain Percival Talbot "Percy" Molson, MC was a Canadian star athlete and soldier. After an outstanding sports career with McGill University, Molson joined its administration. Molson died fighting in World War I. In his will, he donated funds for McGill to build its football stadium, named Percival Molson Memorial Stadium in his honour.

Brent Emery was a cyclist for the United States at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, California, where he won a silver medal in the team pursuit. He is now a business owner and cycling advocate in the metro Milwaukee area. He married Julie Emery (Fluet) on August 3, 1985 after meeting her at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics where she came to watch her brother, Steve Hegg win a gold and silver medal, also in cycling. They live in Menomonee Falls, Wi and have two children, John Robert Emery and Ashley Emery, and two grandchildren Lexus and Lola Emery.
The women's 800 metres at the 1928 Summer Olympics took place between August 1 and August 2. Some press reports of the event claimed that many of the competitors were exhausted or failed to finish the race. According to Lynne Emery, these reports were inaccurate and the athletes were winded as normal after a race. In any case, the idea that the distance was too great for women prompted the IOC to drop it from the Olympic programme. It was reintroduced in 1960.
