Emily Burnett (born 8 August 1997) [1] is a Welsh actress. From 2017 to 2019, she portrayed the role of Charlie Morris in the CBBC series The Dumping Ground , a role for which she won the 2019 British Academy Children's Award for Performer. In 2020, she portrayed the role of Jas Salford in fellow CBBC series So Awkward . In 2021, Burnett was cast in the Channel 4 soap opera Hollyoaks as Olivia Bradshaw.

Early life

Burnett was born in Cardiff, Wales, where she went on to study art. [2] She has cited her father as an influence for getting into acting, recalling that he introduced her to films at a young age. [3]

Career

In 2011, Burnett appeared in an episode of the CBBC series The Sparticle Mystery . [4] She made her professional stage debut in a production of Love is the Revolution at the Soho Theatre. [5] A year later, she starred in a production titled Beacons. [3] In 2017, Burnett was cast in the CBBC series The Dumping Ground as Charlie Morris. She stayed in the series until 2019. [6] For her role as Charlie, Burnett was awarded the 2019 British Academy Children's Award for Performer. [7] She then starred in the S4C series Merched Parchus as Cai in 2019. [8] A year later, Burnett was cast as Jas Salford in the CBBC series So Awkward (replacing Ameerah Falzon-Ojo). [6] Later in 2020, she appeared in an episode of the BBC soap opera Doctors as Zadie Stiller. [9] In 2021, Burnett was cast in the Channel 4 soap opera Hollyoaks as Olivia Bradshaw. [10]

Hollyoaks is a British soap opera which originally began airing on Channel 4 on 23 October 1995. It was created by Phil Redmond, who had previously conceived the soap opera Brookside. From 2005 to 2023, episodes have aired on sister channel E4 a day prior to their broadcast on Channel 4. In 2023, Hollyoaks was removed from Channel 4's early evening schedule, but remains on E4 and Channel 4's on demand service with episodes now uploaded to YouTube. At its inception, the soap was targeted towards an adolescent and young adult audience but it has since broadened its appeal to all age groups. Hollyoaks has covered various taboo subjects rarely seen on British television, for which it has received numerous awards. The fifth series of the British children's television series The Dumping Ground began broadcasting on 20 January 2017 on CBBC and ended on 15 December 2017. The series follows the lives of the children living in the fictional children's care home of Ashdene Ridge, nicknamed by them "The Dumping Ground". It consists of twenty-two, thirty-minute episodes, airing in two halves in January–March and October–December 2017. It is the thirteenth series in The Story of Tracy Beaker franchise.

"Episode 5675" is an episode of the British television soap opera Hollyoaks. The episode focuses on a birthday party for Walter Deveraux and features an exclusively Black cast. The episode was produced, written and directed by Black creatives – the first of its kind for a British soap opera. The episode formed part of broadcaster Channel 4's Black to Front movement, a day where solely Black-fronted programming was shown. Plans for the episode were initially announced in August 2020 as a response to the protest movement arising from the murder of George Floyd. Nathaniel Dass is a British actor, singer and musician. Dass played the main role of Nathaniel/Nate in the CBBC musical dramedy television series Almost Never, which ran for three seasons between 2019 and 2021.
