Emma Maud Nuttall (born 23 April 1992) [1] is a British track and field athlete who specialises in the high jump. [2] She represented Scotland at the 2014 Commonwealth Games and won the British title in 2013. She held the Scottish Indoor record with a clearance of 1.88 metres in 2014 which was only beaten in 2018 (1.90)
Born in Edinburgh, Scotland, Nuttall became a member of Edinburgh A.C and was coached by 1976 Olympian Moira Maguire until 2010. She won the Scottish Schools Championship in 2010 with a clearance of 1.78 metres. A year later she jumped 1.82m when winning the British U20 Championship (incorporating the European trials), to earn selection for the 2011 European Junior Championships in Tallinn, Estonia, where she finished 15th overall in qualifying with 1.77m.
Nuttall improved her best to 1.86 metres in June 2012, before finishing fourth a week later at the British Olympic Trials with 1.81m. In 2013, she won the British Championships in Birmingham, further improving her best to 1.87m.
On 8 March 2014 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, she broke the long-standing CIS (Canadian Interuniversity Sport) Indoor Championship record, jumping a height of 1.88m. In doing so, she also bettered the Scottish Indoor Record by 1 cm. She went on to earn selection for Team Scotland to compete in the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games, where she finished 14th in qualification with 1.81m. [3]
In 2014, she suffered a torn patella tendon and In 2015 underwent a PRP procedure to repair the tear. The following two years were spent performing light training and rehab with little or no competitive jumping.
Nuttall was formerly coached by Laurier Primeau while based in Canada, attending Trinity Western University, representing Trinity Western Spartans. She returned to the UK in June 2016 after graduating with a History major degree and moved to Loughborough to continue her High jumping with Fuzz Caan and his group.
In 2017, she qualified for the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games but suffered another knee injury in January 2018 which caused her to withdraw from the squad.

Elizabeth Nuttall is a Scottish former middle- and long-distance runner. She won the gold medal in the 10,000 metres at the 1991 World Championships and a silver over the same distance at the 1988 Olympic Games. McColgan earned a silver in the 3000 metres at the 1989 World Indoor Championships. She was a two-time gold medalist in the event at the Commonwealth Games, 1992 World Half Marathon champion and a two-time individual medallist at the World Cross Country Championships. She claimed three victories at the World Marathon Majors: at the 1991 New York City Marathon, 1992 Tokyo Marathon and 1996 London Marathon.
Jennifer Elaine "Jenny" Stoute is English former sprinter. She represented Great Britain at the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul and the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona, where she won a bronze medal in the 4x400 metres relay. She also appeared as Rebel in the ITV show Gladiators from 1996 to 1999.
Yvonne Carole Grace Murray-Mooney, is a Scottish former middle-distance and long-distance track and road-running athlete. She won a bronze medal in the 3000 metres at the 1988 Olympic Games, and gold medals at this distance at the 1987 European Indoor Championships, the 1993 World Indoor Championships and the 1990 European Championships. She also won a gold medal in the 10,000 metres at the 1994 Commonwealth Games. Her 3000 metres best of 8:29.02 was set in the Olympic Final of 1988.
Dame Jessica Ennis-Hill is a retired British track and field athlete from England, specialising in the heptathlon and 100 metres hurdles. As a competitor in heptathlon, she is the 2012 Olympic champion, a three-time world champion, and the 2010 European champion. She is also the 2010 World Indoor pentathlon champion. A member of the City of Sheffield & Dearne athletic club, she is a former British national record holder for the heptathlon. She is also a former British record holder in the 100 metres hurdles, the high jump and the indoor pentathlon.

Diana Clare Davies is a retired female high jumper from Great Britain, born in Catworth. Her personal best of 1.95 metres set on 26 June 1982, at a meet in Oslo, Norway, stood as the UK national record until 2014. She competed at two Olympic Games, reaching the final on both occasions. In Los Angeles 1984, she finished in 9th place, while in Seoul 1988, she finished 8th (1.90m).
Gillian Cooke is a Scottish track and field athlete and bobsledder. She was born and brought up in Edinburgh, and educated at George Watson's College. She began her sporting career in track and field with Edinburgh Southern Harriers. In 2001, she took fourth place in the triple jump at the Commonwealth Youth Games, and set a Scottish junior record for the pole vault. She set three Scottish senior records in the pole vault in two months in 2002, and was selected to represent Scotland in that event at the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester.
Eilidh Doyle is a retired British track and field athlete. Originally running as Eilidh Child, she specialised in the 400 metres hurdles outdoors, and the 400 metres flat indoors, as well as the 4 x 400 metres relay on both surfaces. She represented Great Britain at the 2012 Olympic Games in London, and won an Olympic bronze medal in the 4 x 400 metres relay at the 2016 Games in Rio de Janeiro. Individually, she is the 2014 European Champion and a three-time Commonwealth silver medalist in the 400 metres hurdles.
Holly Bethan Bradshaw is an English track and field athlete who specialises in the pole vault. She is the current British record holder in the event indoors and outdoors, with clearances of 4.87 metres and 4.90 metres. Bradshaw won a bronze medal at the 2020 Summer Olympics. She also won bronze at the 2012 World Indoor Championships, gold at the 2013 European Indoor Championships, bronze at the 2018 European Championships, and silver at the 2019 European Indoor Championships. She also won at the 2018 Athletics World Cup. Coached by Scott Simpson, she has been consistently ranked among the world's best and has been ranked in the world top ten on the Track and Field News merit rankings four times.
Eilish McColgan is a Scottish middle- and long-distance runner. She is the 2022 Commonwealth Games 10,000 metres champion with the Games record, and 5000 metres silver medallist. McColgan is a four-time European Championships medallist, winning silver medals for the 5000 m in 2018 and 10,000 m in 2022, bronze in the 5000 m in 2022, and a bronze for the indoor 3000 metres in 2017. She is the European record holder for the 10 km road race, and the British record holder for the 5000 m, 10,000 m, 5 km and half marathon. She also holds the European best in the 10 miles on the roads.
Lynsey Sharp is a former Scottish track and field athlete who competed in the 800 metres. She is the 2012 European champion and represented Great Britain at the 2012 Olympic Games in London. She won a silver medal at the 2014 Commonwealth Games. Her personal best is 1:57.69, the seventh fastest time over 800m by a British woman, set in the final of the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
