Emory Point is a mixed-use development on Clifton Road in Druid Hills, unincorporated DeKalb County, Georgia, adjacent to Atlanta. It is across Clifton Road from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and surrounded on three sides by the campus of Emory University.

The complex is located on "The Cliff" Emory University shuttle line.

The complex contains 80,000 square feet (7,400 m2) of retail space and 443 apartments. The total cost of development was variously quoted as USD 60 million [1] to USD 250 million. [2]

History

The project was originally planned in 2006 as a 315,000 square feet (29,300 m2) condominium complex only. [1] It was stopped in 2008 as the Great Recession deepened [3] but was finally completed in 2012. [4]

Construction began in 2012 with the demolition of the Emory Inn, a hotel on the site. [5]

At its opening in Fall 2012, Emory Point was the first new retail project built in the area in 20 years, the largest private development start inside the Perimeter in three years, and the first partnership between Cousins Properties (75%) and Gables Residential (25%), two Atlanta-based development companies. Tenants included Tenants included CVS Pharmacy, JoS. A. Bank Clothiers, Ann Taylor Loft, Bonefish Grill, Fresh to Order, and Which Wich? well as other chain and independent stores and restaurants. As of December 2012, twenty-one shops and restaurants were either open or lined up to open by February 2013. However, most of these tenants have left the development as of 2025.

Greengate Centre is an open-air power center in Hempfield Township, Pennsylvania, United States. It is located on U.S. Route 30. The center opened in 2005 on the site of the defunct Greengate Mall, which was demolished in 2003. Greengate Centre currently encompasses over 430,000 square feet (40,000 m2) of retail space, and more than 45 stores and restaurants. Anchor stores include Jo-Ann Fabrics, Petco, Ross Dress for Less, and Walmart. It also contains dozens of smaller retailers such as Five Below, GameStop, Lane Bryant, General Nutrition Centers, Oshkosh B'gosh, and Verizon Wireless. Rivergate Mall is a super-regional shopping mall located in Goodlettsville, Tennessee, United States, just outside of Nashville, the state capital of Tennessee. Opened in October 1971, the mall features 1,129,035 square feet (104,890.8 m2) of gross leasable area, with approximately 80 stores and restaurants, as well as a food court. Rivergate Mall has two anchor stores: Dillard's and JCPenney. There are two vacant anchor stores that were formerly Macy's and Sears. Pelican Place at Craft Farms is a 372,000-square-foot (34,600 m2) lifestyle center in Gulf Shores, Alabama. It is planned to expand to 650,000 square feet (60,000 m2). It was designed by CMH Architects of Birmingham, the firm that also designed the Eastern Shore Centre in nearby Spanish Fort. Foundry Row is a lifestyle center/mixed-use development built on the former site of a Solo Cup Company factory in Owings Mills, Maryland, United States. Its anchor stores are Wegmans, Old Navy and Designer Shoe Warehouse. The center is located on the corner of Painters Mill Road and on the 10100 block on Maryland Route 140, providing easy access to the Owings Mills station and its neighboring Metro Centre at Owings Mills.
