Emory Point is a mixed-use development on Clifton Road in Druid Hills, unincorporated DeKalb County, Georgia, adjacent to Atlanta. It is across Clifton Road from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and surrounded on three sides by the campus of Emory University.
The complex is located on "The Cliff" Emory University shuttle line.
The complex contains 80,000 square feet (7,400 m2) of retail space and 443 apartments. The total cost of development was variously quoted as USD 60 million [1] to USD 250 million. [2]
The project was originally planned in 2006 as a 315,000 square feet (29,300 m2) condominium complex only. [1] It was stopped in 2008 as the Great Recession deepened [3] but was finally completed in 2012. [4]
Construction began in 2012 with the demolition of the Emory Inn, a hotel on the site. [5]
At its opening in Fall 2012, Emory Point was the first new retail project built in the area in 20 years, the largest private development start inside the Perimeter in three years, and the first partnership between Cousins Properties (75%) and Gables Residential (25%), two Atlanta-based development companies. Tenants included CVS Pharmacy, JoS. A. Bank Clothiers, and Ann Taylor Loft, Bonefish Grill, Fresh to Order, Which Wich? as well as other chain and independent stores and restaurants. As of December 2012, twenty-one shops and restaurants were either open or lined up to open by February 2013.

The Algonquin Galleria Center is an outdoor shopping mall at the southeast corner of Randall Road and County Line Road in Algonquin, Illinois. Plans were for 1,000,000 sq ft (93,000 m2) of space with 150 stores and restaurants set over 110 acres (0.45 km2), but were never really completed. Similar to the existing Algonquin Commons across the street, it will be an outdoor mall, or lifestyle center, with stores spread out in multiple buildings, allowing shoppers to drive up to their favorite store. The Galleria is intended to be an upscale mall, not a typical power center it features; high quality aesthetics, striking architecture, one of the largest agglomerations of furniture retailers in the area, a cluster of restaurants, specialty stores, and a Bowlero bowling facility to serve as the center's entertainment complex.
Gateway Fashion Mall is an enclosed shopping mall in Bismarck, North Dakota. Opened in 1979, the mall has more than 30 stores. The anchor stores are Harbor Freight Tools, Jo-Ann Fabrics, Planet Fitness and Mid Dakota Clinic. There are 2 vacant anchor stores that were once Sears and Conlin's Furniture. The mall's AMC Theatres location closed its door at the height of the Covid-19 Pandemic and has since been replaced by a church.
The urban development patterns of Lexington, Kentucky, confined within an urban growth boundary protecting its famed horse farms, include greenbelts and expanses of land between it and the surrounding towns. This has been done to preserve the region's horse farms and the unique Bluegrass landscape, which bring millions of dollars to the city through the horse industry and tourism. Urban growth is also tightly restricted in the adjacent counties, with the exception of Jessamine County, with development only allowed inside existing city limits. The Donna & Marvin Schwartz Center for Performing Arts is a 90,000-square-foot (8,400 m2) multi-discipline performing arts facility on the campus of Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. Completed in early 2003, the Schwartz Center provides a multidisciplinary teaching and performance center for the performing arts programs at Emory including dance, music, and theater. The centerpiece of the center is the 825-seat Cherry Logan Emerson Concert Hall featuring a custom-built Daniel Jaeckel Opus 45 pipe organ with fifty-four stops and 3,605 pipes in a cherry-wood case. The concert hall was designed in part by renowned acousticians Kirkegaard and Associates. The $36.9 million structure was designed by lead architect Michael Dennis in association with Howard-Montgomery-Steger and Smallwood, Reynolds, Stewart, Stewart.

Ponce City Market is a mixed-use development located in a former Sears catalogue facility in Atlanta, with national and local retail anchors, restaurants, a food hall, boutiques and offices, and residential units. It is located adjacent to the intersection of the BeltLine with Ponce de Leon Avenue in the Old Fourth Ward near Virginia Highland, Poncey-Highland and Midtown neighborhoods. The 2.1-million-square-foot (200,000 m2) building, one of the largest by volume in the Southeast United States, was used by Sears, Roebuck and Co. from 1926 to 1987 and later by the City of Atlanta as "City Hall East". The building's lot covers 16 acres (65,000 m2). Ponce City Market officially opened on August 25, 2014. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2016.
Whittwood Town Center is a 65-acre open-air shopping center in Whittier, Southeast Los Angeles County, California, located on the southwest corner of Whittier Boulevard and Santa Gertrudes Avenue.
Avalon is a mixed-use development in Alpharetta, Georgia. Phase I of the 86-acre (35 ha) site includes 500,000 square feet (46,000 m2) of retail space, a 12-screen Regal Cinemas theater, 105,000 square foot of Class A office space over retail, 101 single-family residences and 250 luxury rental homes. Phase I opened In October 2014 drawing shoppers away from North Point Mall. Phase II, with additional business and residential space, opened in April 2017.
Ansley Mall is an open-air shopping mall in the Piedmont Heights neighborhood of Atlanta at 1544 Piedmont Avenue at the intersection of Monroe Drive near the Atlanta BeltLine trail.
The Rio Shopping Center was a 120,000-square-foot (11,000 m2) open-air shopping center in Atlanta. It was located at the southeast corner of Piedmont Avenue and North Avenue in the northwesternmost part of what is now the Old Fourth Ward, at its border of SoNo and Midtown Atlanta. It was designed by Arquitectonica in postmodern style, landscaped by Martha Schwartz and opened in the Fall of 1988. It was the first free-standing complex of its kind to be built in central Atlanta in more than twenty years.
